In the words of a true blue Singaporean:

WALAO SIAAAAAAAAN

Alright, before I begin, I’d like to make a few things clear. This post is mainly about me (e.g. selfish bastard), so if you’re not into reading a wall of text full of whine and rant, feel free to go elsewhere, maybe watch a Vocaloid Weekly or something.

Here I go.

I’ve actually become quite dead since my last post. Other than replying to comments, my activity in the blogosphere has been minimal. =_=

I don’t mind if it’s just that I don’t post for a week, since that’s my “inactivity limit” (hence this very post), but it’s not just that. I also haven’t been able to comment on other blogs, not even those belonging to fellow members of Team Blue.

I’m not sure exactly why though; when I have the time, I forget, but when I do remember, I’m busy doing something important…only to forget about it later. Also, haven’t visited DC in a while, though the feed keeps me updated. Though I’ve yet to clear out my feed reader too. Gah.

Of course I do log into the TB IRC channel…only to end up AFK-ing to get some work done. =_=

Also, I have a large backlog of blog posts. This backlog started during the pre-KK era, when Fariz and I still had our separate blogs. I had planned to cover some interesting stuff, including reviews of old doujin/indie games, webmanga, Miku webmanga, Miku this, Miku that, and a certain project I’ve been putting off for quite a long time, but never had time due to other posts that needed my immediate attention. Woo.

I wish I could just ignore this backlog, but my gut feeling tells me there’ll be continuitiy issues later on if I do that, and it would be a shame if they weren’t fully covered in separate blog posts.

That said, it may be likely that the next 10 or so posts be from the backlog, so I can stop worrying my ass off about not getting something done.

Blogging aside,

I’ll definitely be heading to AFA on both days, though I (and Fariz) only can spare enough for a normal 2-day ticket. TB’s going to meet up before the con, just like we did with STCC, and Panther’s going to be there from 6AM onwards, unless he changes his mind. If you think that’s bad, some people over at SGCafe plan to camp overnight. That’s dedication for you.

I do hope the queues won’t be as f***ed up as STCC’s were though. >.<;

Whether I’ll actually spend anything during the convention is still undecided, since for all I know there won’t be anything worth spending on, especially after looking at some merchandise listings. Still, I’m crossing my fingers for that glimmer of hope there’d actually be something anime-themed and “useful” enough to warrant a purchase on my part. Like, say, a Miku phone strap. Or mousepad (not the oppai kind, mind you). Or maybe something from CDS. You get the idea.

And May’N? I guess we’ll just hang out in the back. At least it’s not UVERWorld or something.

Regarding Fariz’s notebook, I now have to face the fact that I may have made a terrible mistake. I found out that one of my friends was planning to sell his Acer notebook off at ~$800 (compared to the Extensa’s $1000+), complete with a lack of Vista (e.g. XP). I mean, compare his Acer Aspire (which is the same model as mine) and Fariz’s Extensa:

Extensa:

  • Intel Pentium Dual Core 2.16GHz
  • NVidia GeForce 9300M GS (With Turbocache)

Aspire:

  • Intel Core 2 Duo 2.00GHz
  • NVidia GeForce Go 7600

Looks impressive on paper, yes, but I’ve been told that Pentium Dual Core sucks, and that a 7600’s more powerful than the 9300M. =_=

If only I had kept my mouth shut. The Extensa does feel a bit more…solid though.

Currently, I’m busy with assignments, as polytechnic students should be, and it doesn’t help much that the club’s getting bombarded with assignments. And it was about almost a year ago that we were worried we weren’t getting enough attention to survive. lol

As such, I can’t really be sure I can be quick enough to post about some other “important things” coming up, such as Crypton’s CV03 (linked character is a hoax btw), so bear with me. >.<

Well, that’s it for now. It’s 3 AM in the morning, so I should probably get some sleep for class in 5 hours time. If you actually read (and understood) all that, kudos to you. Have a video:

Damn, excellent quality MADs always cheer me up after a moody post. :D

See you at AFA (if you’re going to be there, that is)!

Sorry to hear about all this Infest. Hope things improve over time. And about the notebook, don’t feel bad, your brother actually got the better deal.

The pentium dual core may be a “crippled” version of the Core 2 Duo, but they have been shown to beat the later by a good margin if clocked higher.

Also, the 7600 Go has 256MB of deticated memory. 350MHz core clock, and 350MHz memory clock.

The 9300M GS has a 400MHz core clock minimum (some have it clocked much higher), and 400MHz memory clock. It also has 256MB of deticated memory, but will only use the turbocache (for up to an additional 256MB of shared memory) if your brother is doing something that will require more than the included 256MB. Which I doubt he’ll do.

Overall, I’ll say he got the much better deal, especially since the 7600 Go is a dead technology. My 2 year old laptop had it.

@jrharbort: Okay… Well, my brother’s not willing to overclock his pentium, but we managed to turn turbocache off.

Red Alert 3 still runs fine. :)
