It has been quite awhile since I saw both of them at the Winter Wonder Festival 2008 and recently at the Anime Festival Asia 08 (AFA08).. Finally, the good news has finally arrived for those who are waiting for them since WonderFest.. Max Factory has finally decided to open them for reservation..
Who are they? Well, that is a very good question.. They are from the manga series in the 80s; Plawres Sanshiro which was later adapted as an anime.. Though I have not watch it yet, some people do love the show.. And the best thing about them is that they are actually prototypes of the figma series..
Yes, you heard right.. They are under the figma project which was originally created as a joint effort between Masaki Asai and Max Factory using these figures as concept models.. Now, as part of the figma first year anniversary, Max Factory has gladly made them available for pre-orders..
So let us begin with the first of the group; Sakura Hime..
She looks very cool in that particular outfit, something I find it rare it most figurines/figmas I have seen.. She doesn’t even need a weapon to look nice; Just herself will do..
Three faces are included, including an expressionless face, and various hand parts are also included allowing for a virtually unlimited number of poses.

Of all the 3 faces, I prefer this facial expression the most.. It makes her feel manly or “GAR”.. xD
Both Sakura Hime and Juohmaru will have an expressionless face as told earlier.. Looks like they can go Super Saiyan at anytime..
Now lets move on to the other person in this tag team figma; Juohmaru.. He is the other figma character to come as part of a group set for the Plawres Sanshiro series…
Although he looks very nice, I find something odd with his torso outfit… It makes him looks like a female than what the figma was actually made for.. But apart from that, he looks very GAR indeed.. ^^
Similar to Sakura Hime, Juohmaru also have 3 types of face…
Including the expresionless version.. ^^
As stated before, they are open for reservation on Hobby Search.. They cost about 2,300yen each which is about SGD$38.. Both of them do look nice together just like the figma Kagamine Twins.. However, I could not afford anymore figurines as I have not enough space for the figurines that are arriving soon.. I have not even bouth myself a new DeTolf glass cabinet to display the figurines.. I have decided to put these 2 figmas on hold for the time being until I solve the current issues I have..

looks like the prototypes were really designed for full posability in mind, not minding the obvious joints.
