Although the New Year’s Day Celebration was a day ago, I still wanted to post about it which me and Fuzzy got to enjoy.. Well, as stated in the earlier entry, we were at The Esplanade; Singapore’s version of the Sydney Opera House during the celebration..
So we got there using my dad’s car and parked somewhere near the Parliament building.. Well, we arrived there at about 10pm, which we know that the crowd were starting to gather by Marina Bay; main area of the fireworks..
So we arrived at Esplanade where we waited for my elder’s bro’s friend to send us to a special holding area to get us to the Esplanade rooftop.. Well, the rooftop was specially reserved to those who are invited only and my bro’s friend works there so we were kinda lucky to be invited to go to the rooftop..
However, we have to wait for quite awhile since the rooftop is only open to invited people at about 11pm..
And wait we shall..
Finally, at 11.15pm, we were up there and was very excited to get a very beautiful view of the Marina Bay and the Central Business District (CBD) area…
The crowd that have gathered below to watch the fireworks display at midnight.. ^^
So as we were waiting for the time to reach midnight, we were entertained with some songs played by bands on the stage nearby.. The music was quite hip and some of the people on the rooftop were dancing along to the songs..
Nearing midnight, there was a 1 minute of silence so that everyone could count down to the New Year.. So countdown we did and just as the time reached midnight, we ushered in the new year.. ^^ The skies were then glittered with fireworks display..
Here is the video:
Enjoy the pictures.. xD
The fireworks display lasted about a few minutes.. It was quite mesmerizing and spectacular to see the fireworks up close.. Everyone with cameras; SLRs, digital cameras or even mobile phones took videos or pictures of the display..
Well, after the whole display ended, we now have to face another problem.. How are we going to go home through the horde of people who are also trying to get home.. =_=;;
Well, I hope you enjoyed the pictures I have from the celebration.. So to all who visit my site, I would like to wish,
A HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
