While skimming through Apple’s Trailer site, I chance upon this movie which intrigues me so much that I wanted to see what the show is about.. Little did I know that it would be a great trailer which I would like to catch when it makes it debut in America and perhaps here in Singapore..
This movie something to do with battle between the small “Sackman” Ragdolls and Killer Robots.. Though I couldn’t imagine that it would be a win-win situation for the small ragdolls..
However, one would be able to think initially that it could be a movie made for the Sackman of the LittleBigPlanet (LBP) game… Seriously, one of the characters looks almost exactly like the sackman in the game; Same skin and they both have a zipper on the chest.. The only difference is their eyes; the movie has mechanical eyes, making it more human-like..
So the movie title is called “9″… Yes, just a simple number 9.. I’m not kidding either..
So why is it called 9? Well, to give you the answer, you must watch the trailer then..
So yeah, like I said earlier on, the movie is about a battle between the small “Sackmans” and the robot monsters.. So the group is led by this ragdoll named “9″ and they said that he will end the conflict, somehow.. Well, there are humans in the movie but they always die.. I prefer the “Sackmans” battling out with the robots even thought they are small..
The movie is a genre under Sci-Fi Thriller like Terminator and Dead Space with a dash of the Sackmans from LBP.. A truly marvelous movie trailer indeed..
So the movie will be released on 9/9/09.. Quite a long wait but I’ll manage through..

Seems somewhat odd that the characters are so alike LBP’s Sackboys. Otherwise seems pretty interesting.
@ Malzias: Yeah, when I was watching the trailer for the first time, I was wondering since when did they plan to release a LBP movie.. But you are right, design are slightly similar..
Apart from that, I love the trailer.. Will sure go catch this one.. xD

This movie has now become my movie of the year.
Maybe I’m jumping to conclusions, I dunno. The explosive soundtrack for the trailer appeals to me, as well as the whole apocalyptic theme. And the bad-ass machines.
9 was based off an Oscar-nominated animated short of the same name by Shane Acker. It’s quite cool how they’re turning a surreal short into something so epic.
At least they added voices; wouldn’t want a movie full of sackboy mimes.
