2 weeks has passed since our last music review and another 2 songs has arrived on the market.. The wait was worth it as I got to listen to the OP and ED singles of another anime called “Maria +Holic”.. Although both of the albums were on sale on 11th February, I took the liberty to do the review slightly later since I wish to do a full info review on them like I always do instead of rushing one out..
Anyway, Maria + Holic is a very funny anime by Media Factory.. I cant reveal much details about the show but what I can say is that there are alot of Yuri-ecchi related scenes.. Well, its not as worst like Rosario + Vampire thats for sure.. Ouh, don’t forget about alot of bloods spilled in the show as well.. xD Without further ado, let us catch on the OP and ED of the show shall we?
Opening Theme

The song is quite lively indeed when I first listened to it in episode 2 of the show.. The song has that impact which attracts people to listen to the song.. The tune is quite catchy and I love how the drum is being played in the song itself.. Although I find one part of the song quite NSFW which is the “Ah~~” part.. Well, people might think you are watching something indecent instead of an OP of an anime.. xD

The video is quite simple yet mesmerizing.. I love how they use simple objects like ladders and just tins of paint to do the OP.. I also love them for using alot of vibrant colours in the video, making it quite colourful which also goes well with the liveliness of the song itself.. I simply love it..
There is a remix version of the song called “HANAJI – BLOOD EXPLOSION-MIX”… Yes, you heard me right, thats the title.. xD The remixed version sounds quite nice actually which I initially didnt expect much from the album.. The song is worth the listen..

There is also a PV for the OP but unfortunately I dont seem to find any full video on any site.. The only thing I could find is the CM version of the PV.. Hope you enjoy it at least.. ^^

Well, I cant say much about the PV, just that it has more singing than action… But I do love when she cosplay as Maria.. Looks lovely indeed.. ^^

Yup there is nothing more to it.. Yuu Kobayashi sang for both the OP and ED for Maria + Holic and I will like to say that she sang quite nice in this version of “Kimi ni, Menu Kyun”.. The song has that weird feeling when you first listen to it but after a few more times the song sounds quite sweet.. The tune is quite catchy and it tempts you to sing along to the song.. xD

I find the video quite eye-catching, especially the animation.. Although the video looks slightly messed up from a point of view, you will slowly understand some scenes in the video to the show itself.. I love how the video sync well with the song, I find that its quite well-made.. ^^
Well, before this version was out, there was already an original version by YMO made in 1983.. Well, it was quite a slower version than the current one.. I still find it weird that they look quite lifeless when they were singing the song.. Without further ado, I’ll show you the video.. ^^

Well, I hope you enjoyed both the OP and ED of Maria + Holic.. Its quite a pity I couldnt find the PV to the OP, “HANAJI”.. Well, at least the songs are nice to listen to thats for sure.. Well, the show is about to end too and I hope the last episode of the show will be great.. Looking forward to it.. ^^
