Tiem for some shameless advertising. Skip if you hate etc.

I entered into a Microsoft (!) competition, called the “Imagine Cup”, with some friends. Basically, they give you a theme, and you have to work out a “solution” based on that theme, as well as the category your team’s participating in.

This year, though, they made it very vague; the theme is “Imagine a world where technology can solve the world’s problems” or something like that. To be precise, you have to aim to act out some (not all, at least) of the UN’s Millenium Goals. Yes, Microsoft got lazy picking one theme, so they found a loophole and gave us 7. Eh.

Anyhoo, my team, HoC (which stands for House of Coding) is entering under the Software Development category (which means code-code-code). While I can’t tell you what our “solution”, is, I can guarantee you that we’ll win for sure! Muhahahaha!

Okay, maybe not. ( ^.^)b

They’re now holding a “Imagine Cup 2009 Superstars” contest, which is essentially a popularity contest. Most votes win. What exactly the winners get, I have no idea. I just thought, “Hey, might as well publicise.” This doesn’t even have any effect on the real competition by the way.

It’s easy:

  1. Head to the IC website here.
  2. Scroll to the bottom, and check the radio button next to “Team:HOC” (that’s us!). It’s the one with no video (since we couldn’t be bothered, really)
  3. Fill in your name and e-mail address, and click “Vote Now!”

Do vote, since it would be really epic for the team with no video to win this popularity contest. You know you want to. Unlike “Mr. Unsupportive” Fariz here.

…right?
