Words cannot even begin to describe it.

For the past few weeks I’ve been putting loads on pressure on myself trying to finish my part of a project, and that’s basically the reason I’m not actually posting much other than the K-ON! episodic I promised I’ll churn out every week, though the next one has to be delayed. :(

Why is this project so back-breaking? It probably has to do with the fact that we (the team) could very well represent Singapore if we get through the Imagine Cup national finals and fly over to Egypt to take on the big boys. Even by then I would have been the proud owner of an Xbox 360 (or whatever it is Software Design teams win this year).

This project also happens to be my final-year project (polytechnic), so…yeah, you get the point.

A good friend once asked me, what’s the point in participating if it’s just going to break my back twice over. My replay to that is that I’ve never really won any programming compys in my life so far (closest was 3rd place in some noobshit Xbox Forza competition long ago), and I would really like to try and seriously win me one (though it’s more of a team effort).

Also, if we win the national finals:

  • I’d qualify for the Independent Study module in my course, which means I get 4.0 GPA for doing NOTHING. Otherwise I’ll just revert back to an ordinary elective module (and still be behind by 6+ lessons).
  • Obviously I’ll be getting a high score for the final-year project itself.
  • I get to go to EGYPT.

But if we lose…well, truthfully it would really kinda suck, but at least I know I’ve done my best in coding by myself (though I have lots of help from my friends and family). Besides, it’s not so much as an “all-or-nothing” than an “all-or-something” strategy.

And yes, this is the reason (if you didn’t get it yet) why the next K-ON! episodic will be delayed. Also, I really felt like ranting, since there’s a presentation on Monday, and ANOTHER on Wednesday the following week IF we actually get past Monday.

Well, thanks for all the fish, guys. Really appreciate you reading all the way till this point, and really appreciate those that actually bother to reply. lol

So if you’ll excuse me, I have some sleep to catch up on.
