Not-so-recently announced, Halo: Legends will be a series of short movies based on the popular franchise, produced by well-known animation studios.
In other words, hell yes Halo anime.
The 7 shorts in the Halo: Legends series are will be produced by the following studios:
- Production I.G.
- Studio 4°C
- Toei Animation
- Casio Entertainment
- Bones
Marvel also announced a team-up with Madhouse to churn out “anime-versions” of 4 super heroes. Currently only 3 names are confirmed:
- Iron Man
- Spiderman
- Wolverine
The result? See for yourself:
Halo: Legends Trailer
Halo: Legends looks promising. A mash of different styles (similar to the Batman: Gotham Knight anthology film), with one of the films said to be outside of canon just to poke fun at the characters (by Toei). Huh.
Iron Man Teaser
Iron Man looks badass. I really don’t need to say anything else here.
Wolverine Teaser
Wolverine…meh. I just don’t get the same vibe as I did from watching the Iron Man trailer. The main character doesn’t resemble the original Logan in any way either (except for his signature claws).
Yes, I know, there’s debate on what actually constitutes “anime” here, but hey, anime or not, I’d still (try to) watch them, as long as they don’t disappoint.

Is it bad that I thought of Falcon Punch when I saw that picture. That’s it. Just…
“FALCON PUNCH!!”
I am personally looking forward to the Halo Movie. I hope it’s not some elaborate prank. I would cry.

Err… No. Seriously, no. I don’t want Hollywood to mess up with our anime! (Then again, Gotham Knight wasn’t as bad as I thought it out to be.)

I’m afraid of starting any anime now, because the quality of the artwork always goes downhill.

That concept usually doesn’t apply to anime sold on physical media (e.g. Blu-ray). Besides, this is HALO. How could they screw it up?
By the time the anime gets onto retail DVDs, I would have been bombarded with so many spoilers on the web that I would rather commit Wikipicide!

Did anyone notice that the SPARTAN’s number is 1337?
I think the Halo one looks pretty awesome.
Yeah, it’s probably part of the non-canon crazy stuff by Toei. From the trailer, it seems they’re going to try and make that film portion as hilarious as possible.
I’m hoping they don’t majorly flop.

Halo: Legends is the one Blu-ray disc I want.
