As I’ve mentioned in my previous post, I’ll be heading for this year’s Natsu Matsuri (Summer Festival) at The Japanese School (Primary).

To keep it simple (especially since I’m blogging about this in the wee hours in the morning) it’s basically a recreation of a Japanese summer festival, the kind you’d commonly see in anime and manga.

It’s basically just a few booths (6, according to the official page) hosting games and selling food even though we can’t eat it since it’s fasting month. Oh, and there’ll be obi/yukata rentals for the day too.

One thing I’ve seen stressed by other sites mentioning Natsu Matsuri is that there is no cosplay. It’s just a summer festival recreation. For family/friendship bonding and stuff.

There’ll be no goldfish-dipping though; it got discontinued due to “the direction from the Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority (AVA)”. Damn, it was the one activity I would’ve loved to try.

The festival (as mentioned above) will be held at The Japanese School (Primary), from 5.30 PM onwards, and there’ll be a shuttle bus from (4.00 to 7.15 PM) and to (7.30 to 11.00 PM) the Singapore Expo. If you’re like us and didn’t book an advance ticket…get it line! Tickets will be sold at $2 each on the day itself, and the long queues are expected. =D

Anyway, if you are going, do leave a comment! Maybe we can meet up or something. =D

EDIT: Added the time it actually starts, forgot about that.
