Funny picture aside, I’d like to make an important announcement.
Starting tomorrow, we’ll start serving adverts on the site. The server won’t pay for itself you know, and my friends keep telling me I should be putting the site traffic we have right now to good use.
There is one thing I’ll clarify though: these ads are non-intrusive. We’ll only place them in the sidebar, and all they’ll do is sit there. Well, maybe there’ll be a poll in place of one of the ads, but it’s completely up to you to answer them.
Since they’re in the sidebar, all you feed readers shouldn’t be affected, and there should be no pop-ups. If you do get malware warnings from your browser though, don’t hesitate to tell us.
That said though, thanks for supporting Kyouran Kyōdai all this while. Never once in my life did I even consider the possibility of being the owner (or at least a co-owner) of a blog with ~1000 hits a day. And don’t worry, we’ll put the money we’ll earn from this to good use. =D
EDIT: Also, here’s a video:
I can now die a happy man. Dibs on the drummer by the way. =D

The vid’s cute >_< ahhh MIKU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Aww no love for the other 3? :3
I’m one of those ~1,000 viewers a day. =P
I’ll be glad to click each advertisement I see two times a day, just to help support your blog.
Also, that video was just… wow, no words to describe it.
We won’t be using Google AdSense just yet, so no need for clicking (I think). In any case we’re not supposed to tell you to click or anything LOL.
waaah such a cute vid :3
ads are a good idea though. personally got them too but people just won’t click T_T
anyway , seeing as i’m one of your 1000~views a day you can count on me to click on them! ~

My friend did an experiment once. He looked up for the most searched Google terms (it turned out to be LED bulbs, don’t ask me why), made a blog on that subject and posted like once every month. He earned ~$15 from that little experiment IIRC.
Not saying you should try it though.

BTW, I don’t think we’re supposed to openly say that we will click on ads without any intention of LOOKING at the ads, just to roll the dough in.
Just saying. Don’t kill me.
i’m not gonna randomly click ads XD
gotta see something of interest first :3
You know if you guys used thumbnails, all the time, you would save bandwidth costs and I wouldn’t have to look at pixelated resized images (no, I’m not going to enable smooth image resizing in my browser).
After checking all the images on the front page posts it looks like you’re storing them offsite, but my point still stands about the pixelated images
Just saying…
Bandwidth isn’t the sole consideration in running a server, it needs sufficient RAM and CPU power to run WordPress too. The server KK is on is a virtual private server, which is enough to handle traffic spikes from /. with aplomb. It did prove itself a while back during one recent traffic spike from ahem, certain images =)
Hasn’t been dugg yet, so I’m not sure how it’ll handle. KK is sharing the space with a few other blogs and applications, so the server needs to be powerful enough to handle them all without panting like after a 2.4km run.
Hosting for KK is actually free, but Fuzzy is being nice by offering to help out with the server cost. I wouldn’t mind having a bit of absorption myself! We’ll see how this goes

I do post images as thumbnails…when I’m the one doing the uploading that is (i.e. the images are on Imageshack).
I’ll just forward your comment to the other 3 writers on this blog, since it’s so obvious they don’t even bother with thumbnails.
I know what you mean! At first paying for a host doesn’t seem like too much trouble but than it becomes a pain trying to get the money to pay lol
