Here’s something unexpected. The previous issue of Hobby Japan announced that BANDAI and Max Factory will be joining forces to bring you/us yet another Hatsune Miku figure/model, named “超合金初音” (Chōgōkin Hatsune).

While the exact details behind this mysterious product are still…unconfirmed Chōgōkin is a term meaning die-cast, so by the looks of it, we’ll be getting a golden die-cast Miku. Also, a preview render has been released in the latest issue:

(Yes, this is the best picture I could find out there, really. >.<)

Thankfully, the CAD model doesn’t seem to resemble the drawn mockup in the 4koma that was included in the first advertisement. The question still remains though: what is this, really? If it’s just another posable action figure, then it’d make their figma rendition redundant. I can’t say I’m looking forward to a totally golden die-cast Miku though. :/

Of course, there’s always this possibility…but it’s unlikely. Can’t hurt to dream, though! XD I would have preferred something like this though. A Miku mecha is always welcome.

Also, since BANDAI’s in the picture, is an appearance at this year’s AFA possible? Hmm.

EDIT: Oh so Chōgōkin means die-cast. Thanks all you commenters and Twitter users who corrected me! I really should have done my research on that term. =_=;
