3 days ago, ryo released the 2M MIX version of Black★Rock Shooter on his blog and website which, as the name implies, was composed as a token of gratitude for the 2 million views on the famous video of the same title (though as of this post it has approximately 2.45 million views).

Unlike ryo’s Melt 2M MIX (which is somehow gone), the Black★Rock Shooter mix is merely a remake of the song, though in my opinion it sounds better than his rendition for the last supercell album. I’m still getting used to the new voice intonations (though I’m starting to like them more every time I loop it). Feel free to compare the 2M MIX with the original below:

Yes, your ears don’t deceive you; snippets of the song have been heard at this year’s Animelo Summer Live, accompanying the teaser trailer which had aired there. The song will also be featured in the Black Rock Shooter –PILOT Edition–, which will be released tomorrow.

The ZIP archive contains both the 2M MIX and an instrumental version, the image at the top of this post, as well as a message from both ryu and huke. You can download it from the Black★Rock Shooter website, or you can try my mirror here. The file I’m hosting contains “fixed” files, meaning the filenames and metadata won’t look screwed up in a PC not using Japanese locality settings (if that makes any sense to you).

We’ve already ordered our copy of the Black★Rock Shooter –PILOT Edition– DVD already, how about you? Or will you rely on the leaks that will undoubtedly surface on or after the day of the release? >.>
