Yeah, better late than never.

The (almost) full details of the AFA’09 and Anisong tickets have already been released, so let’s try to consolidate all that information into one easy-to-understand post, shall we?

Right then.

There’ll be regular tickets for sale, which will simply allow the attendee access to the event itself. Basically it means access to anything except Anisong seats, so if you’re alright with watching from the allocated public viewing area, this is for you.

2-day tickets will cost SGD$25, while single-day tickets will be sold for SGD$15. Local students (sorry foreigners) will receive a 20% discount here, so that’s SGD$20 and SGD$12 for the 2-day and single-day tickets respectively. Anyone else below the age of 13 gets to go in for free.

Only the 2-day tickets will be available for pre-registration, and while the pre-registration date hasn’t been announced (to quote them: “soon”), you’ll be able to order them online. Once you’ve ordered them, you can pick them up on the 20th of November, a day before the first day of AFA’09, from 12PM – 6PM. Both single and 2-day tickets will also be on sale outside the festival entrance on the 21st or 22nd of November.

Be sure to queue up early; if memory serves me well, you’ll be facing really long queues.

The Anisong tickets are a whole new matter. You’re obviously going to have to shell out a lot more for seats during the concert. Here’s the current artiste listing for the concert:

Day 1 (21 November 2009):

Day 2 (22 November 2009):

Single-day tickets are going for SGD$108, and will entitle you to seats for only one of the 2 days. 2-day tickets are going for SGD$188, so if you’re willing to cough up the cash to watch all the performances, go ahead!

You’ll also receive a lightstick to wave about and a regular day pass for the festival itself for every day you’re attending Anisong.

Now here’s a step-by-step guide to order your Anisong tickets, not totally lifted from the ticketing page (hint hint):

  1. Order your tickets from the SISTIC website or from SISTIC outlets (if there’s one nearby). Malaysians and Indonesians, don’t fret, there are also agents in your countries who can sell you the tickets.

2-day tickets will be on sale starting 19th October, and if I’m not wrong, these tickets will run out the fastest. You might want to set aside time (not to mention money) to order these tickets as quickly as possible.

1-day ticket sales will start 7 days later, on the 26th of October.

Online payment will require the use of a credit card, while you can pay in cash at a SISTIC outlet (or agent).

  2. Collect your tickets!

I’ll have to admit, I’m not too familiar with the entire process, though most likely one of the collection methods will involve heading over to an outlet personally, and you’ll probably have to bring documents along as well.

Check the website for the real information, though.

  3. Using the ticket, redeem your concert pass and light stick(s) from the I Love Anisong counter at the venue on the 20th of November (once again, the day before AFA’09 starts) from 9AM onwards, or on either day of AFA itself.

There’s something I need to stress now. The ticket is not your concert pass. The concert pass will be worn around your neck (on a lanyard), and that’s your key to getting in.

Hold on to the SISTIC ticket anyway, though. You’ll need to present it as verification anyhoo (somewhat redundant IMO).

  4. Enter the concert before the performances start, and grab a seat!

See? It’s not so hard.

This is the current concert layout. Pretty much, there’ll be a stage (duh), and the concert pass holders will sit in front of it, while free-goers will be separated by a fence (as they were last year).

The only difference is that the concert will occupy a much larger area (an entire hall), and that there’ll be a 4 metre wall erected, for obvious reasons.

Also, photography and video/audio recording is a no-no.

Well, that’s it. As I’ve mentioned in my last few posts, I’ll be buying the concert tickets for the first day, and probably not even attending the second, since I’ll have to wake up early for internship. That’s right, I’m getting a job attachment real soon…but that’s another post.

If you wanna meet up or something (‘specially for Miku’s performance) I’ll be happy to. It doesn’t seem we can pick our seats though, since it’s a reserved-seating system.

Oh well.
