Once we get the damn petition-fuel loaded that is!
“Hijacked By Fariz Asuka” < Implying the shamelessness? ![]()
5thstar posted recently that a new spacecraft from JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency) named “Akatsuki” which will be bound for Venus sometime next year and they made a campaign, allowing group entries to send an illustration if the members of the group are more than 100. A space fan @chodenzi decided to gather names on the net, to send his favorite character, Miku..
So passionate to Miku, @chodenzi who is famous for creating a miniature model of Miku onboard his small “satellite” so that one day he could launch it into space.. His determination eventually find him at the Arizona desert last September in a rocket contest XPRS (eXtreme Performance Rocket Ships)..
He saw the “Akatsuki” campaign as an oppurtunity to complete his goal and he went to set up his own version of the sign-up website asking people to join in.. The word spread out quickly and the initial goal of 100 people was achieved in mere hours. Within five days, about 1,000 people have signed up…
JAXA noticed the move and Prof. Seiichi Sakamoto, who is responsible for the public outreach and external relations of JAXA/ISAS, told @chodenzi that if more than 10,000 people would sign up, he would allocate one of 100 aluminum plates to the group. The plates are used as counter weights of the spacecraft, and will be able to carry messages and illustrations on it..
So here’s the thing; We need to gather a total of 10,000 signatures and these signatures must reach JAXA by December 25, 2009 (Japan Standard Time).. Anyone can sign up so for those who’s interested, you can go directly here to the sign-up page to add in your name together with the message that you want it to be onboard “Akatsuki”..
Currently there are around 3,300 names registered, including mine here (below).. XD
What are you waiting for, do your part by signing up and send in your names and messages before Xmas~
The Petition lies here.
BTW, The Petition Link IS DONE BY ME! ):< Aww, whatever. I prefer Luka.
So it looks like this to Fariz: Miku is an angel aboard that satellite Interplanetary Exploration Device/Vehicular System going to Venus.
Kudos to Xak for making me use such a scientific word.
Fans, Fariz included, think that it would be better that the Satellite Interplanetary Exploration Device/Vehicular System should look like this: (Only that the image has too much debris around Earth and Jupiter IS TOO NEAR TO BE SAFE! :0)
Thanks again, Xak. :/
I’d prefer if Luka goes… <3 (Yea, I’ve decided that I’m a Luka-fanboy now. Her low voice is <3)
She says if you don’t let her go, She’ll Tako-Impact the world. :O OHSHAT
NaNote: No, I can’t draw stickmen on this. Too hard and too tired among other stuff. Plus, if I can draw Satellites in stickmen form well, designers will be outta a job. ;D

Oh, NaNote again:
I think I do too much official stuff already. Gimme some pr0n or something!
Uh satellites orbit, they don’t travel out of orbit.
.-= Xak´s last blog ..Nana Mizuki’s Live Diamond Digest clips =-.
Sigh. Ok. Interplanetary Exploration Device.
I’ve been trying to explain what a Rover is to my primary school cousin (a question by him, after watching Discovery), who only understands it to the point of a “Satellite that goes everywhere except orbit”. Now I’m busy explaining orbits too, which have become “hulahooping around the world.”
*facepalm.jpg*
I guess his way of thinking got to me too.
I’ve signed in too.
Good luck Miku-chan! The Earth will always be with you even in Venus!
