Haven’t been posting in a while, so I have to apologise, especially since this post contains no VOCALOID or even moe.
The video starts off quite comically (at least to me, anyway), with a kid playing with his toy robots and then spotting the giant ones jerkily marching alongside a nearby bridge.
The rock soundtrack that starts at this point is a hint to the bad-assery still to come, which only really kicks in when the robots start shooting. If you’re reading this without watching the video, allow me to direct you to the conveniently-embedded Youtube video above.
It isn’t exactly Hollywood quality, you say? Well, fret not, Fede Alvarez (director of the film) has already accepted a $30m contract with Sam Raimi, so we’ll probably be looking at yet another Michael Bay film from someone that’s not Michael Bay.
The film does have other flaws, like the fact that the army (or whatever organization that is) immediately responds by strapping missiles to propeller planes and having them fly in-between buildings…and the fact that the planes still sound like jet planes.
But I digress.
I won’t go into detail on the production cost, since there appears to be a lot of inconsistencies with that piece of information, as well as the fact that Alvarez is a producer of an Uruguayan advertisement production company.
Assuming that 500 USD is the actual production cost though, this short film just goes to show you don’t need big bucks to wow the crowd, even though it doesn’t turn out as realistic.
Also, yes, I know I’m a little slow on this. Fret not, there’ll be a movie review coming up.

This video has me speechless, assuming the $500 budget is correct. This must mean he did all the CGI himself. If he didn’t, there is no way it would have cost so little.
Also, “lol” at the Michael Bay comment.

Replace the alien jets with Den’an Zons, etc and replace the propeller planes with Jegans, and it’s a dead ringer for F-91′s early quarter.
