It has been quite a long time since I did an episodic on an anime.. I had planned to do one in past few anime seasons but couldn’t do so due to either writer’s block or just not so motivated to do so.. However, after watching the animes in the Winter 09/10 anime season, I felt inspired to continue my old duties once more.. For a start, I shall do an episodic on one of the animes which turned out unexpectedly good; “Hanamaru Kindergarten”.. Noo, I didn’t do this because there are chibis/super-lolis/whatever you call them.. Anyway, let us begin shall we?
So we start off with the main character; a guy called Tsuchida who just graduated from high school.. Being late for his first day of work at the Hanamaru Kindergarten, he rushed to school on his bicycle.. On the way there, he met a loli student from the school named Anzu-chan.. Misinterpreting his kindness, she thought he was “hitting” on her..
Before Tsuchida was about to come to terms with Anzu-chan’s actions, she quickly rejects his so-called “love”.. He tried to find out about her parents’ whereabouts but in the end, Anzu-chan’s mum arrived just before he could help her.. By then, he continued on to the kindergarten..
Now the show shifts its focus more on Anzu-chan and her mum.. Like typical parents & child, they toured around the kindergarten, etc..
Back to Tsuchida; He met up with some of the employees of the kindergarten, starting with the beautiful Yamamoto-san..
After the loooong “Sakura-love-in-the-air” scene, it was back to those two helping out with the children’s registration at the kindergarten..
After that, it moved on to the Opening speech.. This is where the children are separated into 2 classes; Sakura, taught by Tsuchida and the other class, Peach is taught by Yamamoto-san.. Yamamoto’s speech was not heard properly since the focus was on Anzu-chan greeting her new friends..
When it was Tsuchida’s turn to give a speech, he was pretty much nervous since it was just his first day of work.. He grew more anxious when the parents were quite shocked at Tsuchida working as a kindergarten teacher (an increase in trend where some males are starting to work as kindergarten teachers which are usually held on by females).. When he tried to show how capable he can as a teacher, it was ruined by Anzu-chan shouting…
Nothing turns good if a young girl says that, especially if the person feeling the pinch is Tsuchida.. =3
Good thing is that he somewhat managed to deny that claim by showing his sincerity (more like his love for.. nvm…)..
After the speech, Tsuchida and the employees were busy talking to the parents while Anzu-chan finally get to do a formal greeting with her 2 new friends, Hiiragi and Koume.. It was kinda cute when Koume introduced herself (No, not in a pedo-bear way ok~)..
In the midst of the school opening ceremony, a gust of wind blew Koume’s ribbon from her hair and it flew right up a Sakura tree.. Being helpful, Anzu-chan decided to get the ribbon by cautiously climbing the tree and in the process grabbed the attention of the people nearby..
Looking at the commotion, Tsuchida, Yamamoto and Anzu’s mum decided to check it out.. Realizing on what Anzu was doing, they tried to get her down safely.. However, when Anzu-chan finally got a hold on to the ribbon, she lost her footing and fell such a great height.. Luckily, Tsuchida caught her just in the nick of time and landed safely on the epicly huge pillow provided by Yamamoto-san..
During this period is when Tsuchida finally realized that Anzu-chan’s mum was actually Tsuchida’s senior back when they were both in high school, Sakura..
The story is like this; when Tsuchida was in high school, he knew Sakura as a senpai.. The thing is that Sakura has actually gotten married to an art teacher in the same school.. Yes, that is correct, she got married to a teacher in and during high school.. Orz..
Anyway, she dropped out of school so that she could follow her husband who is going to pursue his studies in the US.. Since then, there isnt anymore contacts between her and Tsuchida until now..
The next day, Tsuchida was late again for work.. When he reached the main gate of the kindergarten, he saw Sakura-senpai and Anzu-chan waiting for him.. And then this happened…
And yes, Sakura-senpai supports her instead of being a normal parent and scold her or something.. Oh well, it is even more amazing to see Anzu-chan climb easily up Tsuchida to the top of his head.. OTL
And that sums up what happened during the first episode of Hanamaru Kindergarten.. Initially, I didn’t expect this series to start off on a good note.. I thought that this anime would be some typical random anime just like “Ladies vs. Butlers”..
I hope this series will still continue on very well till the last episode.. I expect some good things from this crazy show full of good humour and epic lolz.. I will continue to do episodics on this show so do wait for the next one.. Take care~

Cute anime is cute, but it has its implications, if that’s the right word to put it.
Mother marries teacher while young, toddler expresses interest in teacher, mother promises to get them married.
Meh, I’ll take it.
