Once again another great PV has surfaced on the internet, this time is an emotional rock/pop song titled “Rolling Girl”.. Done by “Akiakane”, a collaboration with “yama_ko” as animator with “madamxx” and “fub-koubou” for mixing and fonts respectively, this song has already garnered around 60k views at NicoNicoDouga after just 1 day since its release..

Like usual, let us take a look at the PV before we move on.. Enjoy this wonderful masterpiece~

“Rolling Girl” – Hatsune Miku:

Beginning with the music itself, it has that nice accoustic feeling when the piano mixed with the Pop/Rock tunes.. Originally done by “Genjitsutouhi-P”, it has a good mixture of music tunes, especially when playing in high tempo.. I love the drums playing in the music as it contributes to the stressful/depressing atmosphere of the song..

Hatsune Miku’s sweet voice portrays the character as being innocent but feeling frustrated.. you can say its like “Disappearance of Hatsune Miku” but toned down in terms of speed.. x.X

Now onto the animation itself, although some may say that certain scenes looks so.. meh, I feel that the overall picture must be there and I must say that it delivers itself since it synchro well with the music.. Furthermore, I do like the part where they start off simple with 2 speakers being switched on (Linking well to the Rock/Pop tunes later on which is played loudly)..

The part where the animation went into overdrive was where I instantly love the song.. I do like the part where the “Stressful” part of the song is in “Black n White” and ends on a happy note with full colours being added into the animation.. That was really touching indeed.. ^^

“Rolling Girl” – English lyrics:

Rolling Girl always looked at unreachable dreams
Making a fuss if you got inside her head and disturbed, disturbed.

“No problem.” Was murmured, but weren’t those words lost?
Fail again, fail again.
After ending your search for mistakes, it spins again!

Once more, once more.
“I’ll also roll today,”
That girl says, that girl says,
Playing her words with meaning

“Are you better now?”
“It’s still a ways off, I still don’t see the point. I’m gonna stop my breathing, now.”

Rolling Girl is at the end of the ruins, beyond unreachable colors
Overlapping voices with voices and blending, blending.

“No problem.” Was murmured, but those words were lost.
How are you going to turn out good?
Even the hill tempting me is making mistakes now.

Once more, once more.
Somehow I’m rolling.
That girl said, That girl said
Repeating silent words with meaning

“Are you better now?”
“Just a bit more, and you’ll see something soon. I’m gonna stop my breathing, now.”

Once more, once more.
“I’ll also roll today,”
That girl says, that girl says,
Playing her words with a smile

“Are you better now? It’s okay now. Let’s go, you must be tired as well, right?”
I wanna stop my breathing, now.

Before I end my post on this great song, I have another version of this PV, this time is the same movie but it is sung by the illustrator herself, “Akiakane”.. I have to say that her voice really suits this PV as it adds more emotions into the song.. If you don’t believe, do watch this one then..

“Rolling Girl” – “Akiakane”:

I hope you enjoy this amazing PV.. Till then, do wait for more future Vocaloid songs~ Take care..

just want to say, the part where she’s running and the guy grabs her before she jumps (off a cliff?) is also a favorite part of mine… really moving!

  • Oak says:

I love this song, the video is awesome too, but the aki akane version sucks serious ASSSSSSS. overemotional to the extent it makes her voice suck worse, and she’s just so far out of sync with the tone of the song.

    but the original is god.

  • I suddenly crying when listening to “Akiakane” T.T
made me feels regret for not able to protect her T.T

Okay, I really do like the comments about the Aki Akane version, seriously guys! If Miku sings it doesnt automatically mean hers is the best and what not! I actually loved how Aki sang it, it was so emotional that made it so epic! I MUST HAVE THE MP3!!! Can you provide me with it? I really want it!!! Btw, does anyone know the TRUE meaning behind this video??? Cause in the end she says that “She wants to stop her breathing, now” after the guy hugs her and stuff! I don’t get it e.e’ Need an explanation, thanks =)

    • Tsurunoko says:

Its about how she keeps falling in love over and over again regardless of how many times she is hurt

    • dogluver7581 says:

i think this song is about how this girl is trying to reach a goal, but she keeps failing, therefore she starts “rolling”. at the end, she is comforted by an unknown person, but i still dnt get the last verse where she says, “i wanna stop my breathing, now” -_______-

  • Noa Anon says:

    The true meaning?

Rolling Girl always looked at unreachable dreams Making a fuss if you got inside her head and disturbed, disturbed. (Basically she’s always aiming too high for herself, she doesn’t want ‘you’ to see that she can’t succeed.)
“No problem.” Was murmured, but weren’t those words lost? Fail again, fail again. After ending your search for mistakes, it spins again! (She tells the world that she doesn’t have problems, but she keeps failing over and over again, and every time it she finds that she’s made a mistake again the downward spiral of depression gets worse.)
Once more, once more. “I’ll also roll today,” That girl says, that girl says, Playing her words with meaning (She says “I’ll also roll today,” meaning basically she’s telling the world/’you’ that she’s just going to keep on living, but secretly that she knows she’s going to fail again.)
“Are you better now?” “It’s still a ways off, I still don’t see the point. I’m gonna stop my breathing, now.” (A conversation with someone, perhaps ‘you,’ though from the video I’d like to say its the second boy shown. She says she sees no point in living anymore.)
Rolling Girl is at the end of the ruins, beyond unreachable colors Overlapping voices with voices and blending, blending. (She’s reached the point where she feels like she’s beyond ever not being depressed again and everything that happens just blends into one blur/she can’t even hear what they’re saying anymore)
“No problem.” Was murmured, but those words were lost. How are you going to turn out good? Even the hill tempting me is making mistakes now. (She once said “No problem,” but now she can’t even say that because she’s so far gone. How can she succeed in life when it looks to her like she is even going to make a mistake while trying to kill herself?)
Once more, once more. Somehow I’m rolling. That girl said, That girl said Repeating silent words with meaning (She keeps telling herself to do one more thing, to live one more day, and that’s what is keeping her alive)
“Are you better now?” “Just a bit more, and you’ll see something soon. I’m gonna stop my breathing, now.” (Conversation with someone again, basically she’s saying she’s reached the very end and will soon kill herself.)
Once more, once more. “I’ll also roll today,” That girl says, that girl says, Playing her words with a smile (She seems to realize she’s going to keep living, which, despite her depression, seems to be a good thing–maybe because it is the last thing.)
“Are you better now? It’s okay now. Let’s go, you must be tired as well, right?” I wanna stop my breathing, now. (For a moment she has happiness, but she’d still like to die. From the video, however, she looks more like she’s pouring out her heart to this second guy, like she’s found someone who will listen and she has reason to be living.)

    Useful? Or just depressing?

  • Crimson says:

Ah, also, *the illustrators version finally loaded* I feel that in relation to Noa Anons interpretation, the way Akiakane`s voice emphasises the emotion, the frustration and distress that the song was originally meant to harbor. Thus, her voice does match it pretty well, and it sounds beautiful.

  • Chinonico says:

Tsurunoko please don’t reply to already answered questions.

  • Nkechi says:

    God,both versions are beautiful.
I love it when he opens his eyes at the end.
I wonder if Aki Akane was compelled to write this song due to true events that happened to her.

  • 祖安 says:

Hey , guys first i would like to say
this PV totally awesome . uhm , can anyone tell
me what programme are been used to make this awesome PV ..

  • Shadow Star says:

I think the Akiakane version is nice, but at the same time I don’t really like it. the ‘ah ah’ bits don’t go with the song and to be honest when she sings the chorus, it sounds like she’s screaming it really. I prefer the Miku one. Miku adds just enough emotion while Akiakane just puts in too much emotion for my liking.

  • Rena says:

I absolutely love roling girl. It’s so addictive. I like to put myself into the girls shoes by drawing myself in these scenes. It’s a great song, and the story has brought me to tears. I keep trying to get this song, but I can’t find it on Itunes, or anywhere! Can anyone help me get this song for free? I’m broke right now…

  • James C says:

The song is translated poorly in my opinion. Specifically the line “After ending your search for mistakes, it spins again!”
should imply that the act of rolling and the searching for mistakes are the same thing. This changes the entire song.

In fact, given this interpretation, the song has a strange ending. She was rolling every day. She was fixing her mistakes, trying again and again. And then…
    “I’m fine now.”
“You must be sick and tired of this.”
This implies the striving, the pain, and the burden for her are over. The pain was probably also spread to those around her as well.
The question is, how did the pain go away? Did she give up or did she succeed?

  • D1869 says:

Akiakane DID NOT write the damn song!! She just did a cover of it! Her voice is wonderful, just like other NicoNico singers such as Valshe and Yamai. The “ah, ah” was unnecessary.

  • Hi my friend! I wish to say that this post is awesome, great written and include almost all vital infos. I’d like to peer extra posts like this .

  • Valuable info. Fortunate me I found your website by accident, and I am shocked why this twist of fate didn’t came about earlier! I bookmarked it.

  • Risis says:

This song always makes me cry.
    Always.
    No exceptions.

  • piles hemorrhoid says:

No…it blocks bacteria, which is almost impossible in the rectum. I think the package says “not for internal use”, but am not sure.

  • sad says:

I did this with a travel dictionary so there are some romaji words I couldnt find…
    … iin
    … okoshi

And a few others that I guessed were conjugations.

    Rolling Girl lyrics by subversion13

    Rolling girl has unrealistic dreams
makes a fuss if you get inside her head
    Makes a scene
    Makes a scene

“No problem” she mutters but no one hears
    Another mistake
    Another mistake
She stops looking for an answer
    And rolls again

    One more time
    One more time
    “I’m rolling today, too”
That’s what she says. What she says
Playing with the meaning of words

“Is it good enough this time?”
“I’m not sure… still can’t see the point
    I’ll stop breathing now”

Rolling girl is used to being out of touch
    Over the rainbow
    Voice after voice overlapping
    Blending together
    Blending together

    “No problem” just muttering
    and no one hears
Would you like going to a good place
    Even the hill road
    entices me to mistakes

    One more time
    One more time
    “Somehow I’m rolling again”
That’s what she said. What she said
Silent but expressive at the same time

    “All better now?”
“A little bit… mayby I’ll tell you when I see it better
    I’ll stop breathing now

    One more time
    One more time
    “I’m rolling again”
That’s what she says. What she says
Playing with the meaning of her words

    “Is it good enough?
    That’s good enough
You’re already worn out too, right”
    I’ll quit breathing now
