Last weekend, the End of Year 2009 event was held at the Singapore National Library.. It was a new change of location this year compared to previous year where it was held at the Singapore Expo (which some know is quite far to travel to).. This year was abit special since they have a Yui Makino (Remember “ARIA”?) concert on the day itself..

Well, I would like to present to you the cosplay pictures I took during the event itself.. Some of them really did a fantastic job in their cosplay.. This time round no event coverage on EOY09.. Gomen.. Oh well, do enjoy taking a look at the pics~

After a few days of blogging, I finally found some free time to review the last of the figurines that I’ve got from the Anime Festival Asia 08 (AFA08) event.. Well, you have seen my short review about the Sega Hatsune Miku and Kagamine Rin a few weeks back (Click here to read the entry..). Now it is time to review about the Alter Tsuzaki Aoba and the mecha she is piloting; Moribito TYPE2.. ^^

The original price for her is about 6500 yen which is about SGD$100 but during AFA08, she was sold at only SGD$50 (which later reduced to a good price of SGD$40).. I got this chance since I watched the show back then..

Tsuzaki Aoba and Moribito TYPE2 are actually from a manga series which later became an anime series called Jinki;Extend.. It is about two girls who end up piloting giant humanoid robots called “Jinki” (which translates to “man-machine”)..

Well, let us begin with the review then.. So I was pretty impressed with how neat and tidy the figurine + the mecha were packaged inside the box.. They are also arranged nicely so that people will be impressed when they open the flap of the box..

I took a good look at the 1/8 scale Tsuzaki Aoba and I fell in love with her.. She comes in her torn and tattered “plugsuit”, showing that she just came back from battle.. This makes her look more manly than she is.. xD

However, the suit looks like it is integrated with Tsuzaki’s skin, making the whole battle-worn effects abit weird.. At least that is compensated by her pose and her MOE face.. ^^

Well, her base is quite simple; black in style which allows Tsuzaki to take the attention like most figurines do.. Her leg is nicely detailed too with abit of shine..

Well, what makes this figurine special (and expensive) is that she comes together with her mecha during the Venezuela arc, Moribito TYPE2.. Well, its not even 1/100 or even 1/144.. Since its not stated on the box, I will just say the scale is about the same as the SD Gundams, though the head is not that big.. xD

I would like to hand it to them, the mecha really looks very detailed, down to it’s edges.. The mecha comes with 2 blades, one for each hand, a rifle and a shield.. Due to time constraint, I’ve only managed to take pictures of it weilding the 2 blades..

Seriously, they both look quite good together though I prefer the mecha to be slightly bigger than the current one.. Apart from that, I simply love them very much.. ^^

Though I can add that Moribito TYPE2 is more than meets the eye.. xD

Caught red-handed.. Now I know why the mecha is made that small.. XP

Well, thats it for this review.. I hope you enjoyed the shots I took using my N82.. I am still amazed at how clear the pictures are even under dimmed lighting.. But I would prefer having a dSLR camera of my own to take some great shots.. I wonder if my current pay is enough.. =3

Well, as for now, I would like to take a good rest and prepare myself for a good run in Dead Space… That game is totally awesome.. ^^

Another week has passed and I suddenly got more loots during that period.. Not only did I get some of my loots from the End Of Year ’08 (EOY’08) event, I also got the rest from Hobby Search and other sources via Jon (Wcloudx)..

Here is the breakdown of what I just got.. Firstly, I have the Nendo Hatsune Miku “HachuneFace” version.. Most people would prefer to call it as the Nendo Hatsune Miku Wonfest Edition.. Anyway, Jon got this through his own network of friends; I would like to thank you for that.. This cost about SGD$100.. =3

Next up is the Figma Kagamine Twins (Rin & Len).. Well, both of these belongs to my brother, Fuzzy since he is a fan of Kagamine Rin.. He got them from Hobby Search via Jon (Wcloudx), costing a total of SGD$90..

Hey, at least Figma Hatsune Miku will never be lonely again, thats for sure… ^^

Now last but not least, I got myself 2 postcard-size Hatsune Miku artworks.. I bought them during the EOY’08 for only SGD$4 total from one of the booths there.. The mini-artworks look very nice and beautiful indeed..

Well, the best thing about this is that the owners of the booth cosplayed as Vocaloid characters as you’ve seen in my previous entry.. They look splendid in their respective cosplay and they did a great job manning the booth.. I would thank you for your kind services.. ^^

Well, thats all I have for the Mid-December loots.. As the number of figurines in our possession increases, the amount of space we have decreases.. Well, I am happy to get the Wonfest Nendo Hatsune Miku just like how Fuzzy feels for his Figma Kagamine Twins..

I am not sure whether Fuzzy will do a figure review of the Kagamine Twins but rest assured that I shall spend some time doing the figure review of Wonfest Nendo Miku, perhaps this weekend..

Time flies so fast that you would be shock to know that it is already the end of the year.. Even the most anticipated event this month, the End Of Year ’08 (EOY’08) was just held yesterday and I am very happy that I attended the event..

The event was held at the Singapore Expo Hall A-F from 11am till 7pm.. I arrived late at the event; about 3.30pm to be exact due to a small function I had to help out earlier on.. I first met up with Panther and Hirito near Coffee Bean.. After that, got my ticket to enter the event area; about SGD$12 to be precise and met up with the rest of the group..

Anyway, I am very pleased with how well the cosplayers do their respective characters, some of them are pretty amazing.. Well, I would like to leave to you some of the pictures I took during the EOY08.. Hope you enjoy taking a look at them..

Apart from just the cosplayers, there are also booths by artists to showcase their artwork and sell them, mini shops and other stuff.. What do I mean by other stuffs? Well, some of the booth are used by figure and dollfies collectors to showcase what they have..

I chance upon the figure booth when I was walking around the area, taking some pics of the cosplayers.. I was pretty impressed to see alot of nice figurines/figmas/nendos that were on display..

It was also my chance (Could be the only chance) to see the Volks Hatsune Miku figurine up close and personal.. She was just too kawaii~ not to be missed..

Volks Miku, one of the hardest Hatsune Miku figurines to get.. Wish I can get one easily..

Now, lets return back to cosplaying.. ^^

Some of the Vampire Knights cosplayers looks quite good IMHO..

Oh yeah, the event was so well known that Darth Vader from the EMPIRE sends out one of his trusted Stormtrooper by the name of Gordonator to scout the event..

However, he was unfamiliar with the country’s current technology that he got pissed off.. Here is the video to prove it.. ^^;;

I felt quite satisfied that the EOY 08 ends on a great note.. This year’s event has a lot more great cosplayers around.. I also met up with some of the people that I chat from IRC during the event itself.. Well, it was a great event and I guess I will hope the SOY ’09 will also be great too..

One of the few nice-looking cosplayers in EOY08..

Well, the End of Year was just held a few hours ago and I must say that the event was nice.. Although I arrived slightly late for the event, I did managed to get some good pictures of the cosplayers that were there.. There were some good cosplayers and of course there were very well-made and good-looking/hawt ones too..

Currently, I have about 200 pictures from the event (Thanks to my lateness =_=;;) and I am having trouble opening some of them on GIMP as the pictures wouldn’t load properly.. I think I have to rely on Fuzzy’s Photoshop to open the picture files and take a good look at them.. So for now, I have to be patient, which isn’t my forte..

Now everyone, including me is trying to sort out the pictures and photoshop-ping them to post the pictures on their respective sites/forums.. I will do mine by the end of today (14 Dec) so that I would not postpone any other projects I have in mind for Kyouran Kyodai..

Anyway, I would love to see other people’s pictures during EOY08.. I will post mine real soon.. ^^
