<p><span style="color: #ffff00;">As previously <a href="http://kyourankyodai.com/2009/08/21/natsu-matsuri-summer-festival-singapore-09/" target="_blank">announced</a>, Fuzzy talked about the Natsu Matsuri (Summer Festival).. Now the Kyouran Kyodai brothers have left the lair and attend the event which was held at the Singapore Japanese School (Changi).. Just like the year before, we had to queue to enter into the event area (We forgot to get the advanced tickets.. Orz ).. Good news is that this time around, it didn&#8217;t rained at all.. \o/</span></p>
<p><span id="more-2395"></span><span style="color: #ffff00;">Bad news on the other hand is that due to the annual event getting famous by each year, this means there are more people attending it.. The large crowd was just what we (Me, Fuzzy, Chibi, Squee &amp; gf and Hitori) would not have expected, but at least the wait was worthwhile when they opened the counters at around 5.15pm.. </span></p>
<p align="center"><a href="http://www.notcliche.com/universalstrikers/KyouranKyodai/Images/Events/09/NatsuMatsuri/NatsuMatsuri09_1.jpg"><img class="alignnone" src="http://www.notcliche.com/universalstrikers/KyouranKyodai/Images/Events/09/NatsuMatsuri/NatsuMatsuri09_1.jpg" alt="" width="550" /></a></p>
<p><span style="color: #ffff00;">As usual, there is the Yukata Wearing area where you could rent a Yukata for the day itself.. I&#8217;m not sure how much it was cause I didn&#8217;t wish to wear one yet.. </span></p>
<p align="center"><a href="http://www.notcliche.com/universalstrikers/KyouranKyodai/Images/Events/09/NatsuMatsuri/NatsuMatsuri09_2.jpg"><img class="alignnone" src="http://www.notcliche.com/universalstrikers/KyouranKyodai/Images/Events/09/NatsuMatsuri/NatsuMatsuri09_2.jpg" alt="" width="550" /></a></p>
<p><span style="color: #ffff00;">Now, time for some food and beverages; firstly, we have the POKKA FOOD stalls (To be exact there were 2 booths for them).. For one stall, they sold 4 types of &#8220;Dons&#8221; which are:</span></p>
<p align="center"><a href="http://www.notcliche.com/universalstrikers/KyouranKyodai/Images/Events/09/NatsuMatsuri/NatsuMatsuri09_4.jpg"><img class="alignnone" src="http://www.notcliche.com/universalstrikers/KyouranKyodai/Images/Events/09/NatsuMatsuri/NatsuMatsuri09_4.jpg" alt="" width="550" /></a></p>
<p><span style="color: #ffff00;">On the other stall, they sold a variety of foods that are delicious to eat.. I tried the Almond Cookies and it was quite nice actually.. Too bad the Apple Candy was sold out so very early during the event (at about 5pm+)..</span></p>
<p align="center"><a href="http://www.notcliche.com/universalstrikers/KyouranKyodai/Images/Events/09/NatsuMatsuri/NatsuMatsuri09_5.jpg"><img class="alignnone" src="http://www.notcliche.com/universalstrikers/KyouranKyodai/Images/Events/09/NatsuMatsuri/NatsuMatsuri09_5.jpg" alt="" width="550" /></a></p>
<p><span style="color: #ffff00;">Next up is the famous Asahi Beer Garden which well, sells different types of Japanese beer.. Their main beer would be the &#8220;SUPER DRY&#8221; Asahi Beer which alot of people loved to get their hands on.. XD</span></p>
<p align="center"><a href="http://www.notcliche.com/universalstrikers/KyouranKyodai/Images/Events/09/NatsuMatsuri/NatsuMatsuri09_6.jpg"><img class="alignnone" src="http://www.notcliche.com/universalstrikers/KyouranKyodai/Images/Events/09/NatsuMatsuri/NatsuMatsuri09_6.jpg" alt="" width="550" /></a></p>
<p><span style="color: #ffff00;">There was one particular stall which caught my attention and it was the Pasta de Waraku.. It sold quite a number of delicious food from Spaghetti to Japanese Curry Rice.. The gang got to buy the Curry Rice and we gave it a 2 thumbs up for it.. </span></p>
<p align="center"><a href="http://www.notcliche.com/universalstrikers/KyouranKyodai/Images/Events/09/NatsuMatsuri/NatsuMatsuri09_7.jpg"><img class="alignnone" src="http://www.notcliche.com/universalstrikers/KyouranKyodai/Images/Events/09/NatsuMatsuri/NatsuMatsuri09_7.jpg" alt="" width="550" /></a></p>
<p><span style="color: #ffff00;">By the time we got ourselves all the food and drinks needed, we got to our spot near the main stage area.. (Right side of the stage..)</span></p>
<p align="center"><a href="http://www.notcliche.com/universalstrikers/KyouranKyodai/Images/Events/09/NatsuMatsuri/NatsuMatsuri09_8.jpg"><img class="alignnone" src="http://www.notcliche.com/universalstrikers/KyouranKyodai/Images/Events/09/NatsuMatsuri/NatsuMatsuri09_8.jpg" alt="" width="550" /></a></p>
<p><span style="color: #ffff00;">By 6.30pm onwards, ppl start streaming in to fill up the area and catch the performances by different groups; from Hip-Hop dance to Japanese dance, one even following the Bon Odori movement using the <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EIXV84WyCF8&amp;fmt=18" target="_blank">&#8220;Ponyo Ponyo&#8221; song</a>, &#8220;Gake no ue no Ponyo&#8221; (Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea)~</span></p>
<p align="center"><a href="http://www.notcliche.com/universalstrikers/KyouranKyodai/Images/Events/09/NatsuMatsuri/NatsuMatsuri09_9.jpg"><img class="alignnone" src="http://www.notcliche.com/universalstrikers/KyouranKyodai/Images/Events/09/NatsuMatsuri/NatsuMatsuri09_9.jpg" alt="" width="550" /></a></p>
<p align="center"><a href="http://www.notcliche.com/universalstrikers/KyouranKyodai/Images/Events/09/NatsuMatsuri/NatsuMatsuri09_10.jpg"><img class="alignnone" src="http://www.notcliche.com/universalstrikers/KyouranKyodai/Images/Events/09/NatsuMatsuri/NatsuMatsuri09_10.jpg" alt="" width="550" /></a></p>
<p><span style="color: #ffff00;">This was how packed the place was during the different performances,</span></p>
<p align="center"><a href="http://www.notcliche.com/universalstrikers/KyouranKyodai/Images/Events/09/NatsuMatsuri/NatsuMatsuri09_11.jpg"><img class="alignnone" src="http://www.notcliche.com/universalstrikers/KyouranKyodai/Images/Events/09/NatsuMatsuri/NatsuMatsuri09_11.jpg" alt="" width="550" /></a></p>
<p><span style="color: #ffff00;">before the main event, the Bon Odori dance..</span></p>
<p align="center"><a href="http://www.notcliche.com/universalstrikers/KyouranKyodai/Images/Events/09/NatsuMatsuri/NatsuMatsuri09_12.jpg"><img class="alignnone" src="http://www.notcliche.com/universalstrikers/KyouranKyodai/Images/Events/09/NatsuMatsuri/NatsuMatsuri09_12.jpg" alt="" width="550" /></a></p>
<p><span style="color: #ffff00;">Although we left the event area before the Bon Odori dance ended, we did enjoyed quite abit there, watching the performances and also the cool breeze, eating the curry rice (Me and Fuzzy break fast at dusk).. </span></p>
<p><span style="color: #ffff00;">Well, although we didn&#8217;t get to bring anything back from Natsu Matsuri, I did got something in return thanks to my friend, Squee.. He got me this Black Rock Shooter A3-sized print from the event <a href="http://www.theanimehouse.com/ACME/ACME.htm" target="_self">ACME</a> held at <a href="http://www.nafa.edu.sg/" target="_blank">Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA)</a> earlier in the day.. (Thanks alot!!)</span></p>
<p align="center"><a href="http://www.notcliche.com/universalstrikers/KyouranKyodai/Images/Events/09/NatsuMatsuri/NatsuMatsuri09_13.jpg"><img class="alignnone" src="http://www.notcliche.com/universalstrikers/KyouranKyodai/Images/Events/09/NatsuMatsuri/NatsuMatsuri09_13.jpg" alt="" width="550" /></a><br />
<span style="color: #ffffff;"><em>Original Pic: <a href="http://pcmaniac88.deviantart.com/art/BRS2-115176465" target="_blank">pcmaniac88</a> @ DeviantART</em></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #ffff00;">Well, thats all I have to say for this event, I thought that not bringing the Mikunator (Sony a300) would be a great idea.. It did, until the day becomes night.. -_-;; Oh well, perhaps next year then.. XD</span></p>
