Nana-chan sure is going places these days… places that are normally not in her ‘sphere of influence’.

Not only is she the voice for the official Windows 7 OS-tan (i think, AND SOMEONE GET ME HER SOUND PACK FOR MY FUTURE W7 PRO INSTALL), she is now appearing in the next Metal Gear Solid game, Peace Walker. She even appeared at TGS as promo for the game.

Look out for Windows 7 this October, and Peace Walker on the PSP in 2010.

GOOD TIMES!!!!

Project DIVA made an appearance at TGS 2008 last weekend, and I was happy to find out I could watch a live video feed of the stage show.

But alas, I was disappointed.

Turns out the entire event’s streamed as a radio talkshow, and it’s only exclusive to 300 people (according to kevinay).

kevinay’s also posted pictures taken from the event (which can’t be seen from the live stream since it was a static image), but merely taking them and posting them here seems like I’m trying to re-hash his post.

So. Allow me to present you Gamespot Japan (header image inclusive):

Showing off the 3D model of Miku. I bet that’s not the PSP’s engine at work.

One of the selected costumes which was mentioned here. Note the differences.

KAGAMINE TWINS IN MY DIVA?! GETGETGET

Saki Fujita (Hatsune Miku) and Asami Shimoda (Kagamine Rin & Len) showing off the event figurines. The Rin one feels…lacking somewhat.

Those two figurines are prizes for an event, of which I’m not exactly sure of yet (unless someone can actually translate the Gamespot page so I don’t have to rely on Google).

Now, here’s a random 10-second video to distract you:

[kml_flashembed movie="http://www.zoome.jp/swf/zpmmdiap.swf" height="315" width="400" fversion="9" useexpressinstall="true" fvars="baseDom=999&baseXML=de3d1686fffdf7f1d95510227ae5ae3c72836cd15f5624836223656ca0488279650f7b0318eac3de0d270d0eddbc764788b8d47b3d27" scale="showall" /]

Also, apparently both Saki Fujita and Asami Shimoda tried the game, with the former saying she was poor at it, while the latter said the rhythm of the game was great.

Illustrations for the collaboration event have already been selected, you may view them here. None of them seem to follow any trend in terms of picture resolution, so I’m wondering what their exact purpose is. “Official” PSP wallpapers? :/

The Kagamine twins don’t appear to be playable characters; they don’t get their own music, and there definitely weren’t any Kagamine Rin/Len costumes in the collaboration event. They’ll most likely be “support characters” dancing in the background or briefing you in the tutorial.

Alright, last bit. Remember this preview video?

[kml_flashembed movie="http://www.platipus.nl/flvplayer/download/1.0/FLVPlayer.swf?video=http://miku.sega.jp/omake.flv&autoplay=false" height="300" width="400" fversion="9" useexpressinstall="true" allowfullscreen="true" /]

SEGA recently released another preview video, showing the end of the same playthrough.

[kml_flashembed movie="http://www.platipus.nl/flvplayer/download/1.0/FLVPlayer.swf?video=http://miku.sega.jp/omake2.flv&autoplay=false" height="300" width="400" fversion="9" useexpressinstall="true" allowfullscreen="true" /]

Cute, yet I can see how this is still a challenging game. I love the bonus section, and I really really really want it now. XD

Also, they released this CG video featuring Miku dancing along to OSTER Project’s “Miracle Paint”. I guess they’re showing us how flexible their “model” is and how it’ll allow them to easily make animated sequences in-game. This video was also featured during the stage event.

[kml_flashembed movie="http://www.platipus.nl/flvplayer/download/1.0/FLVPlayer.swf?video=http://miku.sega.jp/secret.flv&autoplay=false" height="300" width="400" fversion="9" useexpressinstall="true" allowfullscreen="true" /]

Both videos are hosted on the website (in fact I’m direct-linking their videos) along with the first preview, and the “miku” password guess thingy has already been removed, for the benefit of any person too stupid enough to figure it out.

Heheh.

Random PSP image. Source: Piapro

The SEGA x Piapro collaboration project is beginning to show signs of progress.

Development pictures of additional costumes for Miku have been posted on the Piapro blog. Yup, additional 3-dimensional costumes.

Oh, don’t know what I’m talking about? Allow me to explain.

The collaboration project involves getting the community to contribute content to the game, as well as any future downloads I mentioned at the end of this post. This includes music (obviously), illustrations (what for? I have no clue) and costumes.

The people at Piapro recently posted some of the chosen costumes shown below:

Original sketch by SAB

Original sketch by 永遠一日

Original sketch by GAOGAO

Original sketch by ぽんたろう

What amazes me is how accurately the SEGA team (assuming they’re the ones doing this) converted the 2D designs (especially the nekomimi sketch) to usable 3D models.

These renditions were apparently involved in an event at the Tokyo Game Show, which apparently involved the voice actors of Miku and the Kagamine twins, Saki Fujita and Asami Shimoda respectively. There was a live feed (according to kevinay) during the stage event…but I missed it. *A*;

There’s a chance that these 3D models may never make it into the game, since I can’t actually understand a single word on the page (I’m referring to a web translator btw). Fingers crossed! >.<

Also, where the hell do illustrations fit then since this collaboration directly involves the game? Pictures on Miku’s wall in-game? O_O

Here’s the trailer (again):

[vodpod id=ExternalVideo.678327&w=400&h=320&fv=]

And also, I mentioned before that the demo was ‘leeked’ in kevinay’s blog as well as right here on my blog. Apparently, SEGA’s really cracking down on this; any attempt to share it online could land you in legal trouble. My Japanese pal’s father received a call just for this. I’ll let you guys know if she manages to pass a copy to me (which most likely won’t happen, but once again, fingers crossed).

And I so predict there’ll be a maid costume (eventually) for Miku. Any takers on that bet? ^.^
