Just recently, the 4th MikuMikuDance Cup has ended.. This is where people uses their creativity to create some of the most amazing MMD videos ever following one of the three categories chosen by the tournament organizers. Winners are then selected through a point system on NicoNicoDouga.. It is so good to see wonderful and even epic MMD videos..
MikuMikuDanceCup IV – My Personal Favourites~
Bad Apple Gets More Badass~
Everyone was pretty much excited when the “Bad Apple!!” PV went live, using the Stylized Shadow Art to show most of the characters in the Touhou series.. Then we get to see the PV being done this time using Laser Art style, which was pretty much amazing.. But now, it gets even better when you made the whole PV using Stop Motion… Yes, someone did it, frame by frame~
Touhou “Bad Apple!!” PV is Totally Epic
Over a week ago on the 27th October 09, a very unique Touhou PV was released by a Nico user Anira which was simply a huge hit itself.. The PV titled “Bad Apple!! feat. nomico” is so epicly nice that since its release, the video views on NicoNicoDouga has already surpassed the 1 million mark views (1,128,000 views when post was done. ) with almost 400k favorites.. Yes, it is very hard to reach such a high mark in a short span of 1 1/2 weeks..
Chara Hobby 2009 Event Coverage~
Just last weekend, the Chara Hobby 2009 event was held at the Makuhari Messe International Convention Complex.. There are some new and upcoming figurines that the some of the companies have made and I would say that they are a Must-Get for some people like the one above for example.. XD
Alter Tsuzaki Aoba & Moribito TYPE2
After a few days of blogging, I finally found some free time to review the last of the figurines that I’ve got from the Anime Festival Asia 08 (AFA08) event.. Well, you have seen my short review about the Sega Hatsune Miku and Kagamine Rin a few weeks back (Click here to read the entry..). Now it is time to review about the Alter Tsuzaki Aoba and the mecha she is piloting; Moribito TYPE2.. ^^
WonFest Summer Touhou Project Resin Kits.
It been a few weeks since figures companies began announcing what figurines will be on sale during the Wonder Festival (WonFest), including the WonFest exclusive figurines..
Tokyo Hunter was kind enough to share what figurines will be on sale there and some of them caught my attention, especially the Touhou Project character figurines of Reimu Hakurei and Marisa Kirisame..

Well, I think this is my first time seeing figurines from the Touhou Project series but I think that were more of them before these..
However, they come in resin kits version, not PVC which is a no-no from me.. Reason stated below.. Anyway, here are a preview shots of both figures:
1/8 Reimu Hakurei (Nemu Matsukura ver.) Resin Kit
Height: 20cm
Sculptor: Shinpei Yokoshima
Retail price: 7,800 yen (5,800yen during WF)
Release date: 3 August 2008
Info: Available for pre-orders during Wonder Festival 2008 Summer Event Advance Sale.
1/8 Marisa Kirisame (Nemu Matsukura ver.) Resin Kit
Height: 20cm
Sculptor: Shinpei Yokoshima
Retail price: 7,800 yen (5,800yen during WF)
Release date: 3 August 2008
Info: Also available for pre-orders during Wonder Festival 2008 Summer Event Advance Sale.
Well, even though I like how they look, I am not interested in buying them.. Reason is not about money but it is due to them being in resin version..
I’m not into resins for a long time because I am not those type that can be extra gentle with figurines.. So I fear my hands might lose its grip and result in the resin figurine to drop and break..
I hope there would be a PVC version of any Touhou Project characters which looks great, especially Reimu Hakurei.. ^^
How about you? Do you still prefer to buy a figurine if it is made of resins instead of PVC??
Touhou Project Tribute

Hatsune Miku here, my master is currently busy with his studies for the remaining subject for tomorrow’s paper, Wireless Networking.. Although he is away, he prepared some entries beforehand so that I can just post it on the blog.. This is the 2nd of the entries he prepared; the Touhou Project..
Below is the fan-made picture of every characters that can be found since the first Touhou game..
Well, its been about 12 years since the Touhou Project was first created ( from 1996 till now ).. My master grew fond of watching people play each Touhou Project games on Youtube and NicoVideo 2 years ago..
Well, Touhou Project (TP) or Project Shrine Maiden is a very successful scroll shooter game series made by just one person.. Yes just one person named ZUN..
The games are known for its intricate and complicated way of dodging the millions of bullets and lasers thrown by enemies at your character..
If you think that is hard, take a look at this one from Imperishable Night (TP8)..
Even with the harsh difficulty, alot of people simply liked these games and the Touhou Project became well known around the world..
Well, to pay a tribute for their great success, my master searched all over for the flash videos made by IOSYS, a group who produces remixes of music from the Touhou Project game themselves.. He has given me the videos to post them here on his blog..
IOSYS also made some good flash videos which sync perfectly with the musics..
Without further ado, lets begin the Touhou Project MV Marathon.. ^^
Phantasmagoria Mystical Expectation

Hakurei Reitai Festival
Taken from Wikipedia:
The Hakurei Shrine Reitaisai (博麗神社例大祭) is the largest of the many dōjin conventions hosting only Touhou content. It first started in the year 2004 as a way for Team Shanghai Alice to publicly distribute the trial version for their upcoming games to the fans well in advance of releasing them on the internet.
Since then, many Touhou derivative works are also gathered and sold there. Commencing every year in April or May, the convention has been hosted in Ota, Tokyo in 2004; Naka-ku, Yokohama in 2005; Sunshine City, Tokyo in 2006 and 2007; and the Tokyo Big Sight in 2008.
Although the coordinator of this convention has nothing to do with Team Shanghai Alice officially, the name “Hakurei Shrine Reitaisai” was given by ZUN himself.
If you still want more of the musics, I’ve compiled the full version of the songs (excluding “Overdrive!!”) onto Imeem music player for anyone who want to listen..
I hope you enjoy the videos and the music.. I shall now go back and help my master with his studies for the exam.. Take care everyone.. ^^
