Yesterday marks a great event in Macross History.. An outing was organised by Terrence at Hong Lim Park to commemorate the launching of the SDF-01 (Super Dimensional Force) ship from Earth [In Macross Timeline].. Yes, even though the exact date itself of the launch was on 9th February, there were quite a number of people who attended the event to coincide with the one that was also held in Akihabara.. ^^
Even as the days go by, I am still feeling the same excitement I felt back during AFA08 when I saw the loots I got… I thought I would not buy so much stuffs during the event initially but the sight of Miku-related stuffs resulted in my money flying away with a blink of an eye.. =_=;;
When I think about the title Anime Festival Asia (AFA), I was thinking it was just an event showcasing just animes and perhaps some gunplas like some of the events were back then.. Well, I was told before the event that there will also be shops selling figurines to those who wants them so much, at a discount.. And maybe a couple of figurines on show..
The one that fascinates both of us is this mech game called “Metal Rage”; A Robotic Online Action TPS.. Before I say more, here is the Promo video of the game:
Well, as the Promo video shows, its an online battle pitted against mechs.. Well, the design on the mechs look sleek and very futuristic but I remember seeing some parts of their design are taken from MechWarrior.. But heck, Mechwarrior is an old game.. ^^
In A.D. 2070, humans have struggled with one another in order to survive in the universe. To follow one’s instinct and desires to survive, every human must join one of 3 large-scaled groups formed with the purpose of depriving the others of their powers to govern the world.
1st) A scout-type robot, agile and can eliminate enemies quickly..
4th) The most dangerous mech perhaps its the Spider Mech.. Has 2 cannons that can pulverized the enemies with one click of the button.. Has an ability to do sniping (as shown below) on faraway enemies..
So why did I say that StormRise takes its idea from 4 different games? Well for a start lets look at “Dawn of War”.. Apparently, one of your main objectives is to take over a node which is energy source in the game..
Then there is the giant monster which can become a huge front-liner + tanker.. It resembles monsters from Doom 3/Gears of War whatever your pick..
Their design looks sleek and outright futuristic.. It reminds me of Battlefield 2142 though.. xD
Browsing through the Gametrailers site, I chanced upon this RTS game which interest me.. The game, named StormRise, is a RTS game being developed by Creative Assembly and Sega..
Well, you can say that it is a 4-in-1 type of game, having characters that are maybe inspired from older games such as “Dawn of War”, “Doom 3″/”Gears of War”, “Mechwarriors” and “Predator”..
Why did I say all of those games? The reasons are stated below so do read on..
StormRise picks up the popular post-apocalyptic theme, presenting a civilization that has begun to once again emerge after a catastrophic event… You have the ability to control units in the air, on the surface, and even underground…
Once captured, you can place a building on it to collect the energy as resources.. The building can even transform into a defence turret to defend against enemy raids.. Does this feels like “Dawn of War” to you?? ^^
Then there are some units belonging to a faction that has features which resembles those from other games.. 1st example is the cloaking assassins which can sneak behind enemy lines and slaughter any infantries who are busy defending a node or base..
The unit looks almost similar to the Predator.. But I find it cool since its been a long time since I saw a cloaked assassin-based unit in Starcraft..
I like how it becomes the target for enemy fire when its sheer size can take a lot of damage, judging from the video itself.. Well, we have to see more videos of this game to know more about this unit..
Then lastly, we have the Mechwarriors.. Woah.. Giant-killa beast vs. Mechwarriors; Mechwarriors win..
Well, I can expect this mech to have a weapon switch ability so that it can switch attack between anti-infantry to maybe anti-air/anti-tank.. Well, the game is still in development stage so there might be alot of changes going on with the units etc..
StormRise is slated to be released in 2009.. It will be released not only as a console RTS game for X-Box360 and PS3, it will also be released on PC too.. Awesome..

Another season sets in and I am feeling abit stressed out.. Apparently I cant find my receipts for the GSC 1/8 Hatsune Miku and 1/8 Beats Haruka.. Thinking they might be in the piles of rubbish books/files, I went ahead to start my first Autumn-Cleaning..
Well, it wasn’t hard getting those junks out of my shelf.. The hard part was sorting out the real trash from the rest..
Next up is these 2 Granado Espada Invitation Card.. Yeah, you heard me right.. These cards were given for the launch of the game how many moooons ago.. The launch party was held at Zouk and well, I didnt get to enjoy the party..
Well for example, I scanned this page filled with Age of Empires 2 cheats.. Well, I doubt anyone is still playing this game when there is AOE3..
Seriously, I just realised that I have been keeping too much junks in the house.. x.X As for now, I think I better take a rest from all of that work.. Too much energy was drained during the 1 hour period..
But looking at that makes me decide that I had to clear up any trash so that I wont misplace anything else in the future..
Man, that looks messed up..
Among those trash I did find some stuff worth keeping, for a longer while that is.. One example is this; a guide book for the Singapore Toys & Comic Convention and 2 Tofu-man toys..
Wanted to give the toys away but there were no takers.. Pity.. Well, if anyone wants it you can PM me via chatbox..
The contents of the envelopes… The card was well-made.. Too bad the game didn’t catch on with everyone, thought the OST was good.. ^^
Now BEHOLD, I recently discovered my very old book back in the primary school days.. It was my Gamefaqs of the old days.. Back then, friends kept asking me the cheat codes for alot of games.. This was my secret weapon back then.. xD
So after sorting the trash from the rest, I placed the trash into the plastic bag provided.. Well, the trash filled up about 3 small trash bags..
I did summon help from Sword Impulse and Force Impulse to do the sorting for me.. Doing all this work all by myself will take hours to accomplish.. xD
After 1 hour of mass cleaning and sorting and with the help of the Impulses, I have finally managed to clear up alot of spaces from the shelf..
This means that I have enough space to place my figmas, especially Figma Hatsune Miku.. Well, thats all I have for today.. And yeah, I finally found my 2 receipts for the 2 figures.. ^^

Even though WonFest ended long ago (about 6 hours ago), I am still amaze at the pictures taken by the public and companies alike.. Even as I am typing in my entry, there would be more people uploading pictures about what is on show in Wonder Festival..

Of course, it depends on your point of view. 
It has been a long while since I watched any classic anime shows.. However, after some spring cleaning of the house, I somehow discovered my DVD box of Neo Ranga stashed somewhere in the closet.. Though the cover box is torn in some places, the CDs and the CD casing looks quite intact after 6 years of MIA..
I thought I gave this show another look so that I can recall whats the whole show is about and what made it interesting..
Well, the story goes like this:
The Shimahara sisters (Manami, Ushio, and Yuuhi) are living on their own, with the eldest sister as their breadwinner, when a young man from the fictional South Pacific Island of Barou arrives with news of their long-missing brother.
Their brother had married into the Barou royalty, but since he passed away, leaving the sisters as the hereditary rulers of Barou. As the new rulers of Barou, they now fall under the protection of the island’s god, Neo Ranga, which turns out to be a gigantic monster. When Ranga followed them to Tokyo, it soon becomes a source of wonder and conflict for the three sisters that control Ranga, the people who want to destroy it, and ones who want to use it.
After watching quite a number of episodes, I had a nostalgic feeling.. The show is interesting, given its lack of graphics and effects back in the 90s..
On one hand, this looks like it was partially inspired by Neon Genesis Evangelion, judging by the looks of Neo Ranga; a large semi-organic mecha..
Darn, he even roars like Eva-01 when it goes berserk..
Well, at least this classic show has pretty girls, even lolies too.. ^^
Well, the first few episodes are kinda sketchy but the show will be great somewhere near the end of season 1.. Yes, there is a total of 48 episodes, splitting into 2 seasons..
Maybe I am just a sucker for girls holding weapons but yeah this show does have some nice feeling to it.. I hope I get to finish all episodes by the end of this week before my school projects start to pile up on me..
