Hatsune Miku appears to be on the verge of gaining an English version, providing her fans are dutiful enough in fulfilling her wishes.

The announcement of sorts comes by way of an address given to Vocaloid fans at a recent US convention, with Miku creators Hiroyuki Ito and Wataru Sasaki suggesting an English version will be forthcoming if Miku’s demand for 39,390 likes (the odd number is the result of Japanese wordplay: “miku” and “sankyu”) on her Facebook page is met.

As gathering likes on Facebook is akin to catching flies on flypaper, the statement can basically be taken as an announcement that there will be an English version and the decision is already something of a fait accompli; certainly making a business decision based on Facebook likes is not something which anyone would expect from the decidedly canny businessmen at Crypton.

Crypton have in fact been talking about the need for an English version since 2008, so her recent burst of publicity may well form the momentum for an imminent announcement.

Facebook users wishing to accelerate the inevitable or simply bathe in her exalted virtual light can proceed to her profile here – with over 33,000 likes already it seems it will not be long in coming.

Just whether this will be a success is another question of course – Miku’s success so far is essentially the result of an extremely strong community of (Japanese) artists and musicians, rather than any central group under the control of Crypton, Yamaha, Sega or others, so her dual nature of both being a virtual idol and a creative tool may yet complicate her establishment overseas.

For those not in the know, TWGOK is about… A God (guy – Keima) who’s interested only in females from games (eroge, visual novels, etc). He receives a letter asking him to help in “capturing” (stealing the heart of) a female and accepts it without realising that it is actually a contract that binds him to Elcie, a demon dispatched from Hell to capture loose spirits that reside within females’ broken ronery hearts. So Keima the God is tasked to fill these cracks in the hearts with his love and then purge the loose spirit so as to allow for them to be captured. This happens over a series of girls and in the manga, something big seems to be developing!

Well, if you’re into all kinds of girls, watch this.

Even if you’re gay, watch this.

Yosuga no Sora

I have no idea what this is. I’ve read the manga and liked it. But the anime gave me mixed feelings. More on that later.

An anime based off a Visual Novel of the same name, it… I don’t know. Tells you a story of incest that no man in real life can every have? No idea really. The story is about a pair of twins, Haru Kasugano (boy) and Sora Kasugano (girl) who had their parents pass away in an automobile accident. Deciding to avoid being separated from one another through adoption by different siblings, the pair decide to move back to their grandfather’s old home in the boonies. They’ll probably just have the usual trials from VN plots and then INCEST ENDING.

DELICIOUS WINCEST IS DELISH.

That all said, I’m really interested in this. Because of wincest. I don’t care! This is good stuff! Sora’s portrayed as a inward, shy and highly sensitive person with weak constitution while her brother, Haru’s more ougoing, shameless (?) and highly dense. Their difference in nature creates a really riveting atmosphere for me.

Second series of the manga-adapted humour-ecchi anime. It promised the same fun and lulz from the first series (or season. I can’t get these two figured out.) and then some. New character introductions and large plot movements, the cast gets closer and closer to the truth of the New World.

Enter Astraea, a Delta-Type Angeloid from Higher Up who’s tasked to remove the presence of the male lead, Tomoki. And she’s got like, non-human figures. Well, because she’s not human BUT. GIANT. Sadly her brain is the inverse of her cup size apparently. As in the case of Nymphos. Ikarus’s probably in the middle.

Well, the show’s a no-brain much really. There’s plot movement but as with the manga, you’re actually looking for some dirty humour really. Which there is. A lot of. :9
