Finally, the details of the Hatsune Miku Thanksgiving Day concert in 2011 have been announced!

The details for the second Thanksgiving concert were released not too long ago (yesterday, in fact).

Right now it’s all just information on a single webpage, complete with a leek countdown timer, but I’ll machine-translate it to the best of my ability. >_>

The concert is officially titled “Hatsune Miku Live Party 2011 –39’s LIVE IN TOKYO-”, though apparently that mouthful can be shortened to “ミクパ♪”, or “Mikupa♪”.

Mikupa♪ will be held on the 9th of March next year at ZeppTokyo (again), and the concert halls open at 6PM. The concert itself will be approximately 2 1/2 hours long, lasting from 7PM till 9.30PM.

This year, it’ll cost 5,390 JPY to attend, but the cost not only earns you entry; it earns you a single drink (at least, that’s what I think it means) and a Hatsune Miku Nendoroid Plus Charm Sakura Version! I do believe it’ll be similar to the charm distributed with Project DIVA 2nd, except probably either simply pink or donning the kimono costume featured in the game.

If you’re interested in ordering tickets, the early bird orders will open on the 27th this month at 12PM on e+, but they’ll close on the 5th of January at 6PM. Regular orders will (tentatively) open on the 30th of January (elsewhere?).

If you’re curious, Mikupa♪ will mainly be sponsored by 5pb, but Crypton, SEGA, Good Smile Company and AG-ONE will all have a hand in it, so expect heavy merchandising, too.

The website also promises that the outfits the virtual divas will don next year will also be different, to celebrate the concert’s one-year anniversary. Either that, or I’m mis-reading the message totally. >_<

There are no details of any available live streams as of yet, but assuming it’ll be held the same way as last year’s concert, Nico Nico Douga will open up that live stream for us.

Looking forward to Mikupa♪? =3

Officially that is. I mean, she Engrishes already right?

Hatsune Miku appears to be on the verge of gaining an English version, providing her fans are dutiful enough in fulfilling her wishes.

The announcement of sorts comes by way of an address given to Vocaloid fans at a recent US convention, with Miku creators Hiroyuki Ito and Wataru Sasaki suggesting an English version will be forthcoming if Miku’s demand for 39,390 likes (the odd number is the result of Japanese wordplay: “miku” and “sankyu”) on her Facebook page is met.

As gathering likes on Facebook is akin to catching flies on flypaper, the statement can basically be taken as an announcement that there will be an English version and the decision is already something of a fait accompli; certainly making a business decision based on Facebook likes is not something which anyone would expect from the decidedly canny businessmen at Crypton.

Crypton have in fact been talking about the need for an English version since 2008, so her recent burst of publicity may well form the momentum for an imminent announcement.

Facebook users wishing to accelerate the inevitable or simply bathe in her exalted virtual light can proceed to her profile here – with over 33,000 likes already it seems it will not be long in coming.

Just whether this will be a success is another question of course – Miku’s success so far is essentially the result of an extremely strong community of (Japanese) artists and musicians, rather than any central group under the control of Crypton, Yamaha, Sega or others, so her dual nature of both being a virtual idol and a creative tool may yet complicate her establishment overseas.

For this year’s AFAX.

Because we all have been goofed.

Right. So I’m sorry I can’t provide pictures for now. The procession is too long and I need downtime. So do you, so read and scramble.

–

AFAX! Woke up past the alarm time, yelped and ran out.

Reaching there, the first sight, a queue that has gone all the way over to the third floor from the fourth. OMFGG. Turns out to be ticketing, so… Meh. ADVANCE CORPS ARE ADVANCED.

In we go!

Uhhhh… Ok. Here the amazing thing happens.

I bought the least things ever in this blog-clan. (As compared to highest spender for last year.) Fuzzy started buying lots of stuff and Fei’s like… Not Fei.

-shudder at the thought of sight of Fei with VIP pass and tons of loot-

Well, Fariz played the Project Diva Arcade machines. Twice I think. WAI NOT MOAR MIKULOARD, you yell. Because each time you want to play once, you have to queue for 60 mins AT LEAST!?!?!?!?!?!

Fuzzy started his path down senseless spending with a dingy magazine with one nice Vocaloids poster of Rin and Miku (I think it’s like the Sega official art style?) and one undesirable (To Fuzzy) Clannad poster.

Fei disappeared in a sea of money and receipts.

I just wandered around everywhere. To be honest, I actually sold an artbook there which offset the AFAX ticket costs. Harhar!

Met with… Salanos, sgAmirul, uhh uhh… people people people. If you want, I can do a stickmens of the whole thing LATER IN A FEW DAYS. Tomorrow at fastest.

Heck, I’m actually sketch-ploting with a pen now. =.=

MOVIETIEM! Gundam 00: Awakening of the Trailblazer. Yay. Fuzzy kept telling how he watched it WITHOUT ME, and how there was an outing organised WITHOUT ME and how he knows all the trolololololols WITHOUT ME. ;A;

But yeah, nice movie. Lousy quality though and… AKIRA DVD PLAYER!?!?!?! ARE THEY THAT POOR? -orz crater-

But the show was kinda touching. In a super-huge humanity view.

Out we went after the movie screening and more wandering.

ZANEEDS was there, nice music BUT THE NEARBY KTV REALLY BOMBED IT. UGH. I would have bought like, all the CDs and the vinyl if that allowed me to blow out the KTV but no.

I nearly convinced Fuzzy to buy their really cool retro vinyl and then waste more money because he needs a record player to use it then. But actually, the vinyl is for signing on. Truth.

WAI CHIBI NOT THAR TO SING INSTEAD?

More wandering, the maid cafe was… interesting? I guess so. We peered in like scientists peering into the strange and wild world of… Jupiter. Yes.

We did not manage to find the Butler Cafe. I suspect there is a filter installed in all humans.

Finally, cosplay!

Ok, I won’t say much because that’s main coverage area. I reckon you can find the pictures on SGCAFE in day or two.

But maybe AFAX management isn’t that bad, because they got an empty hall opened to let cosplayers go into it. Just like Tokyo Big Sight has areas for cosplays, only we were smaller. Neat. But lighting for cameras were claimed to be abysmal. Well, I suck at it anyway so… -shrug-

Much good-average cosplays. No Gundams. Panty-Stockings spotted. But to quote sgAmirul, “Old lah…” XD

Concert entry started to happen around 6. Not a really bad rush I think. Because tickets controlled even the standing viewers. Clever filter.

Here I retired into the night, having realised I have effectively became an eunuch or something to AFAX, having been of zero profit potential AT ALL. So sad.

Nano Nano and the Indefinite Sadness. (Kudos if you get the reference)

Oh, I also met @kazearashiP! But I’m sorry I had to go off and never came back. Sorry!

Fuzzy said the Miku concert messed up AGEN. :/ Hello I am Surprise.

–

What I think:

Well, anyone could tell you, AFAX is in many ways a lot better but also a lot more sedate. The KKnM rush was larger than ever but the overall of stores were… meh. Artist corner was desperately under-tenanted and SEGA was so stingy with two machines.

However, AFAX did have a lot less hullaboos really. The cosplay areas were effectively controlled without much conflict, save for a few sunlight buggers. The Miku concert probably bombed but if anyone really considered the whole thing, Miku would be just filler to AFAX (Mikulord yells, BLASPHEMY!) so it’s expected.

Well, I had fun on Day 1 and I’m sure Day 2 would be good too.

So, if you’re going tomorrow, get some sleep NOW and get your dying fighting spirit out!

Or your wallet. Whichever is nearer.

–

Twitter Rips: Stuff from the Fuzz and the MikuLaord. Loard. Lard. Lrd. L. L’D. LLLLULLLLZ.

Left. So first up. During the BRS’S MATO’S SEIYUU WHOSE NAME IS – TO ME panel, they ANNOUNCED THERE WAS TO BE A BRS 2 MOVIE.

Duh. The first movie just stopped THERE.

Second in, huke will be coming to AFA next year! YAYYYYYY, yells Fariz as he rips open the cotton stuffing in his BRAND NEW BRS PLUSHIE by accident.

Fuzzy says the sound control for the concert sucks. I agree. The Gundam 00 movie moved my heart LITERALLY at times and I swear I could have died if not for the fact that the killer noise also gave me CPR.

Fariz DOES NOT TWIT USEFUL.

You can also follow me Twitter but I don’t tweet instantly because I has a no-internets phone line.

As for how we look like, I will release upon the OK from said person’s face. Mine is No-Go.

Nano is a shadow ninja!

King Records has gone and done something to test my loyalty to Nana-sama…..

Was listening to Smile Gang on Nico Nico Douga today and heard this annoucement from Nana herself.

This Christmas, she will be releasing not one buy 2 BD/DVD concert box sets containing:

Live Games RED x Academy EHIME

Live Games BLUE x Academy OSAKA

There is no either/or situation since both boxsets contains very different footage due to different setlists.. Come on who doesn’t want to see Nana cosplay as Cure Blossom!?!?!?!?! (Nosebleed) or dress up as a Nurse

I AM SO GOING BROKE… not to mention I happen to have 2 Fate Testarossa figurines on the way… perhaps I may have to sacrifice something. T_T

Oh.. hai… I’m still around. =D

Just correcting some really outdated information here about the ｢Hello Kitty to Issho! X VOCALOID｣ project (and revealing the REAL DESIGN of the new VOCALOID).

About a month ago, we posted about a Hello Kitty VOCALOID by AHS, and we stated that it will be Rio, a kittyler from the ｢Hello Kitty to Issho!｣ series of characters, who was illustrated by KEI.

Unfortunately, that bit of info isn’t exactly true. A member of the AHS staff denied it in an interview (on the same day as our post too, no less). We forgot to update our post though, so for those of you who felt a bit lost reading other blogs, we’re really sorry about that. >_>

So if Rio isn’t the new AHS VOCALOID, who is?

As it turns out, the design for the new VOCALOID was revealed 3 days ago. She’s none other than Nekomura Iroha (猫村いろは), who was originally illustrated by okama. You can check out her kittyler page (which includes the original character design).

Iroha seems to be…more than sufficiently equipped for her new job. I mean, Dynamic Phonon Busters? A pair of floating Chorus Speakers? Any more and she’d qualify to be a mecha musume. ._.

Opening song to Clepsydra ~Hikari to Kage no Jujika~:
MP3

You can also listen to a couple of song samples above, taken from the official page.

The new VOCALOID will be retailing for 15,750 JPY from the 22nd of October this year onwards, and the first-press release will also include a bonus CD containing 2 songs: Tsubasa and ABBEY FLY.

Meiko’s “latest” 3DPV titled “Palette” is an awesome piece of work that was recently released on NicoNicoDouga.. It is quite nice to see a 3DPV of Meiko; Usually it is either, Hatsune Miku, Kagamine Twins or Megurine Luka.. I really love the song after my friend recommended listening to this old song..

Just like usual, lemme show you the epic PV~

【MEIKO】 – Palette:

Here is the lyric (Romaji) to the song..

“Palette” Lyrics:

Now, regarding the music itself.. The song was actually made 2 years ago.. Thats right, it was created way back in 2007, dated 12th December by composer “作者” or “nocchi1031″.. Being an early VocaRock song, I find it very sweet and melodious.. The chorus on the other hand is very well-tuned and I find it very catchy.. The intruments played perfectly well together, complimenting Meiko’s voice.. A true wonder for quite an old song..

For the animation itself, one initially think that the graphic looks like those from the old Resident Evil games.. Thats what I also think of when I first watched it.. Even the backdrop where Meiko is singing seems like one.. Meiko’s movement in this PV is quite fluid; no rigidity or perhaps little or no lag at all, apart from one part where her mouth didn’t synchronize with the song.. Other than that, I love the singing part during the chorus, very surreal..

Well, thats all I have for today’s review.. Very sorry to those who always visit my blog to see it hanging there.. Abit busy with schedules for this month but most probably everything should be sorted out within the end of next week.. Till then enjoy~
