Thought I show up once in a while to prove to the whole world that I’m still around. So here we go, I’m still here.

In response to Nanopulp’s post about today being a holiday, yes it is for me too…

From tomorrow onwards however, I’ll officially be an undergraduate under the Faculty of Engineering in the National University of Singapore. Depending on my workload, my few cameo appearances here would probably get reduced. I’ve already had to do some pre-lecture readings at the Central Library in preparation. SIGH

Oh ya, even though it’s a holiday today, I had a piece of personal bad news. As there was supposed to be a lecture today, it did not happen due to the holiday. SO, WE SHALL HAVE A MAKE-UP LECTURE ON SATURDAY. In all my schooling days, primary through JC, I’ve never had the need to return to school on a weekend for academic purposes. So I have to take my hat off to the faculty for breaking that record in the 1st possible weekend in my undergraduate tenure.

WHERE’S THE LUCKY DRAW RESULTS?

(The rational part of me knew I didn’t win and that was that but let me rant.)

I just sat there at the computer terminal, staring at my phone and then staring at the reflection of myself in the monitor. I literally stared a Krypton laser beam into the phone!

Why? Because I was waiting for the SMS. (I knew it wouldn’t come, but I went to church today, which I don’t do usually, so I thought today would be a special case) The SMS that tells me I won some bloody thing.

I don’t care whether I won the figurine or the consolation fan. I just need to cure this urge of getting something for free.(Somewhat free, I spent 120 bucks on the tickets.)

It’s like the Magpie Syndrome! I want to win a lucky draw!

Now I’ll just retreat into a corner and stare at my thumbs and empty wallet.

The agony.

Fariz and I decided to do a little something special to celebrate: hold a Nendoroid christmas party!

I mean, the alternative would be to spam pictures from imageboards and such, so…

Len on the left, Rin on the right. You know who’s in the center.

This also marks the very first time I’m handling my own figurines, and they’re Nendoroids to boot. Fariz was there to show me the ropes though, both on photography as well as figurine handling. ^.^

Len can’t stand wearing a traffic cone on his head.

I also learned how difficult it was to pose figurines “fresh from the box”, since as Fariz put it, the separate parts get stuck together from being cooped up for so long. I guess it was a good thing we had this shoot, lest they be cooped up in their boxes for longer.

Christmas hug!

I was a lil’ afraid I’d break something, but luckily nothing really happened.

The hats were just cut-out semicircles rolled into cones. I had originally wanted to fold origami paper hats (since I love origami), but I couldn’t find any suitable for what I had in mind.

By the way, I wouldn’t call this an “official figurine review”, especially since we were rushing to finish the shoot by midnight. I’ll still review my Nendoroids (as well as the Figma) when I find the time (somehow). Fariz somehow finds his free time easily.

Also, I received this Gundam as a Christmas present from a friend of mine. I was surprised (since we don’t exactly celebrate Christmas here.), but grateful nonetheless. Maybe I’ll assemble this and put it on display…

And before someone shouts “ripped-off”, OG had a 20% discount sale, so he bought it for ~$80+. Not bad, though back in the day Fariz was buying each of his 1/100 models for ~$60 if I recall.

Also, yes, we had a lil’ banner redesign several days before. Fortunately, I managed to make my own Christmas hats via this lil’ tutorial to plop on our “mascots’” heads. Not too shabby a job if I do say so myself.

All that aside, a very merry Christmas to everyone who have (in one way or another) supported us, including Team Blue and all our other friends! Hope you guys get great presents (if you truly celebrate it that is).

Merry christmas to all our readers and commenters too! Hopefully, by next year, the Nendoroids will be able to afford cotton wool for their hats.
