I deeply apologize for the less-than-half-assed attempt at an April’s Fools joke.

If you didn’t notice, Miku and Rin were missing from the blog’s header. The prank I had in mind was a little more elaborate than that, but this day didn’t go as “perfectly” as I thought it would, and I ended up having much less time to myself than I had planned. To keep this post rant-free and short, though, I’ll spare you the details. =)

In any case, the first of April also marks Teto’s birthday, so here’s to my favourite UTAU! Coincidentally she’s the only UTAU I’m familiar with. ( *A*)

Yeah, I’m a little overdue with that too, so if you’ll excuse me I’ll just head to bed now. It’s friggen’ 2 AM. o_o

Just recently, the 4th MikuMikuDance Cup has ended.. This is where people uses their creativity to create some of the most amazing MMD videos ever following one of the three categories chosen by the tournament organizers. Winners are then selected through a point system on NicoNicoDouga.. It is so good to see wonderful and even epic MMD videos..

What happened when you mix Vocaloid with one of the cool OPs in 2008? You will get this wonderful result; “Discotheque”, Vocaloid style.. Taken from the anime series, “Rosario to Vampire Capu2, watching the video makes me remember the anime itself 2 years back.. So notstalgic.. Well, enjoy the video~

I really liked how well the video was edited out to replace the original casts with the Vocaloid characters, from Official ones like Miku, Kaito and the Kagamine twins and also Unofficial ones like Akita Neru, Haku and Teto.. Miki and Megpoid were not left out either but the main character for this PV is Megurine Luka who have the same pink colour hair as Moka..

I really love the song sung by Mizuki Nana (and so does Chibi.. XD ) Luka’s version seems alrite though it can be improved in some part of the songs where her voice goes slightly off-tuned.. But I still give an “A” for the effort made not just on the song, but also the video editing itself too..

It’s no coincidence Teto’s birthday occurs on April Fools’ day, since she was a prank made 366 days ago just so everyone could have a laugh…and yet now she has a following of her own, as voice data in UTAU.

Maybe next April Fool’s Day, we should make some crazy lie that escalates into a global sensation!

Oh, and I know I’m a bit late (sorry! >.<), but you probably know the reason by now.

Once again I am pretty impressed with the MikuMikuDance (MMD), a choreographing program which includes all Vocaloid characters and some non-official Vocaloid characters (Initially).. Recently, a video caught my attention while I was browsing through NicoNicoDouga..

The video is a dance sequence of a very famous song called “Love & Joy” by Yuki Kimura.. Actually, she isn’t the one which came up with the dance sequence.. But before I touch on that, let us watch the video which inspired me to make this entry.. xD

“Love & Joy” – Hatsune Miku (Solo)

I simply love the animation of the video itself.. Not only did the choreographer made a smooth dance sequence of “Love & Joy”, he also blurred the video slightly and also added motion blur into the video to make it look more realistic than what usual MMD videos will look like..

Back to topic at hand, I simply love the song itself.. It is quite catchy and tempts you to dance along with it just like what some people did, inspiring them to create a dance sequence of the song itself.. Well, from what I can gather, the ones that did the dance moves was from some group during the “D-Stage” (Dragons – Baseball team) Live.. Without further ado, let me show you the video.. Enjoy~

Recently, there are some videos released on NicoNicoDouga that are made using the MikuMikuDance program.. Well, they are made for the MikuMikuDanceCup (MMDC) which is now having an ongoing voting progress to see which video will claim top spot in the MMDC.. Well, before we start on the Cup, let us get to know about this MikuMikuDance (MMD) program..

MikuMikuDance is a 3D program filled with 3D lookalike of Official and non-official Vocaloid characters like Hatsune Miku, Akita Neru, Megurine Luka, etc.. You can create dance moves for any of the characters by crontolling their skeletons.. Its quite fun actually..

This was when I made my first MMD dance, Caramelldansen.. xD

Now back to main topic.. Well, I just watched the MMD videos which made it to the top 100 spots in the MMDC and I pretty much like them.. Some of them are quite amazing too, even better than some normal Vocaloid 3DPVs that appear on the net.. Well, the contest result will be held at 24th February but there is already a video showcasing which 100 MMD video are the top picks by viewers..

When I saw this video, I was amazed at how well-made the animation was.. The animator really puts effort into the little details such as the fingers strumming the correct note on the guitar.. Although I prefer more scenes in this video, I still love it… xD

The best MMD video I’ve seen so far, even the fans love it as well.. I initially thought this was just a random video but after watching it I instantly got hooked to it.. The animation is so well-made that it is almost like a mini-anime itself.. The techno music is quite nice to listen to.. Its catchy tune makes the whole show quite interesting and it actually synchronize well with the animation.. I really enjoyed watching it.. =3

When I first saw it, I thought it would be one of those simple but amazing animation of some Hatsune Miku song which I usually listen too.. However, when I played the video itself, I was simply mesmerized by the great song and also the beautiful animation itself.. Well, the video I am talking about is “smooooch ・∀・ x Vocaloid” which was released about 2 weeks ago in NicoVideo which spreads to Youtube..

When I first watch it, I was simply amazed at the animation itself; quite smooth and well-made it almost look like the original video which I am gonna show you later.. Well, lets just say that the original video only have 3 characters but the person who made this ( Click here for the source itself.. ) is very skilled in doing such stuff..

Now about the original video, it is from the original title, “smooooch ・∀・”, a very cool song made by “kors k”, one of the core musicians for Beatmania series by Konami.. His real name is Kosuke Saito.. The song “smooooch ・∀・” is for the latest game series called Beatmania IIDX 16: Empress ( Click here for details.. )… Well before we move on let us see the original video itself..

I ROFL-ed at the sight of the characters of One Piece doing “smooooch ・∀・”.. Well, I expected at least Nami and Nico Robin but at least the animation is quite alright.. However, I can’t really stand the ending, its… creepy… =_=;;

After listening to it, I guess I can try look into this Beatmania IIDX 16: Empress game and see what other great song I can listen to.. This week is another great festive season and I am feeling quite merry instead of back a few days ago when I was taking a few days hiatus due to me feeling depressed for some personal reason.. Well, tis the season to be jolly and I am very enthusiastic enough to review the next Vocaloid Weekly; Vocaloid Weekly #63.. Even with the jolly and happy holiday, it seems pretty quiet here.. xD

27 – 【初音ミク】ポラリス【オリジナル曲】: A very calm, relaxing song sung by Hatsune Miku.. The calmness of the music and the slow tune playing makes this song very soothing.. It helps when you want a Hatsune Miku song to listen to when you are taking a short break lets say from work.. The chorus is quite good to listen, especially the music itself..
22 – 【初音ミクオリジナル】necrocarnival: This is one of the best song I’ve heard for this Vocaloid Weekly.. This song was released a few weeks ago and I got mesmerized by its very funky and catchy tune.. Even though the singing by Hatsune Miku is short, the awesome tune makes up for it.. Although some prefer to listen more of Hatsune Miku’s voice, this song still gets a recommendation from me.. ^^
20 – 【鏡音レン】 初めての恋が終わる時: Kagamine Len’s version of Ryo/Supercell’s latest creation, 初音ミクがオリジナル曲を歌ってくれたよ「初めての恋が終わる時」.. All I can say that Kagamine Len sings quite well in this song.. However, I shall not type more about the song since it be be quite similar to the latter’s song.. I do say that the artwork for this video is very well-made..
14 – 初音ミク　オリジナル曲　「驫麤～とりぷるばか～」fullver.: This cute and catchy song of Hatsune Miku, Akita Neru and Kasane Teto has made a comeback after a few Vocaloid Weekly.. The song is very catchy and I simply love the MOE-ness of the characters singing the song, especially Kasane Teto continuous singing near the end of the video..
05 – 【初音ミク】モーメント【オリジナル】: Also known as “Moment”, this sweet and nice song will impress you with its catchy tune.. The guitar and drum played in this song are very mesmerizing and will leave you to really listen to the whole song.. This is another song for recommendation and I placed this song in my iPod Shuffle.. ^^

Now moving on to the TOP 3 songs in Vocaloid Weekly #63:

3rd Place – 【初音ミクの本気オリジナル曲】 いつか笑顔、いつも笑顔: Another sweet song sung by Hatsune Miku.. The piano plays quite soothingly with the song.. The music is amazing, especially the chorus of the song.. Miku’s singing is nicely-composed though it can be fine-tuned further to make the whole song better.. =3
2nd Place – 初音ミクが歌うオリジナル曲→「ワールドアウトサイド」: A catchy song by Hatsune Miku.. I didn’t like the song initially but after listening to the song quite a few more times, I grew accustomed to it.. It might be how the reverb was set for this song; It makes the song sounds weird.. Apart from that, the song is quite good to listen to and I do recommend this song to everyone..
1st Place – 初音ミクがオリジナル曲を歌ってくれたよ「初めての恋が終わる時」: Ah yes, this is another great and epic song made by Ryo and Supercell.. Also known as “When Love Ends For The First Time”, this song is very nice to listen to.. The sad and emotional tune will probably get to you somehow as if you are in the whole song itself.. I am very happy that Ryo has made another great song for us to listen to.. The song 初音ミクがオリジナル曲を歌ってくれたよ「初めての恋が終わる時」 was so famous that the Rin’s version; 【鏡音レン】 初めての恋が終わる時 was released just a few days later.. This was a shocker to me as Ryo’s other songs has other Vocaloid chars rendition only a few weeks/months later.. I find this quite amazing though..

Well, at least Vocaloid Weekly #63 has some other great songs to hear such as 【初音ミク】ポラリス【オリジナル曲】 and 【初音ミク】モーメント【オリジナル】 which are emotional yet very sweet to listen to.. Well, I hope we get to see more of these songs in the next Vocaloid Weekly.. xD

Now, I feel good to be back to blogging the way I used to.. The festive holiday must have brought me back from the emotional person I was back then.. Well, look at the bright side, I have new Hatsune Miku songs to listen to..

Well, it is time to relax and enjoy the holidays.. I think I have enough energy to go to work tomorrow then.. Till then, I will catch up with some of the animes I’ve missed.. X3

Even as the hype of the End OF Year event which was held last Saturday; From cosplayers to the doujin booths lingers on in some forums and blogs, I have decided to move on to my weekly posting of the Vocaloid Weekly.. It has been a few days since I postponed this entry as I was busy photoshopping the images I took during the event.. Well, there are so many anime-related events held in Singapore this year and posting about them do result in some of the entries going into backlogs.. =_=;;

Now, moving on to the Vocaloid Weekly #62, we’ve seen quite a couple of good songs that were showcased.. Songs like 【初音ミク】プラグアウト【オリジナル】, 【初音ミク】sleeping beauty【オリジナル】, 【初音ミク】「カナシキヒステリックガール」【オリジナル】are some of the many songs that I find to be very nice to listen to.. Another thing is that in Vocaloid Weekly #62, we can see a competition of songs between Hatsune Miku and Kagamine Rin.. This could be an epic battle for top SPOT which is taken by 【VOCALOID】HONEY – NANAMEUE ALL☆STARS【3DPV】.. ^^

28 – 「ニコニコ☆おまじない」完成版　feat.初音ミク　【オリジナル曲】: A very cute song composed by ラマーズＰ and sung by Hatsune Miku.. It has Miku singing in the chorus, “Nico Nico Nico” which makes her sound very kawaii~.. Well, initially I thought it was “Neko Neko Neko” but the spelling is different.. Overall, I find the song very sweet.. Perhaps someone could make a Animated PV like “Triple Baka”.. ^^
20 – 【初音ミク】プラグアウト【オリジナル】: A very nice trance songs.. Also known as “Plug Out”, this song proves to be a very soothing yet has that rocking melody.. Even though it is nice, I kinda dislike the 1 minute of having to listen to the repeating tune over and over again till the singing part.. Apart from that, this song is still a good recommendation by me so do get to listen to this song.. ^^
19 – 【初音ミク×神威がくぽ】「ラストプロトコル」オリジナル曲: A duet of Hatsune Miku and Gackpoid, this song also known as “Last Protocol” has an amazing tune with the sweet melody playing in the background.. The song is nicely-composed and the duet singing by Miku and Gackpoid coincide well with one another.. I also love the artwork too, especially the costume Miku is wearing.. ^^
17 – 【初音ミク】「カナシキヒステリックガール」【オリジナル】: Now this is one of the nicest Hatsune Miku song.. The catchy tunes will mesmerize you till you would want to listen to the whole song.. The chorus was nice but, it it is made better, it will be very beautiful.. I also find some parts of the song abit off tune but that is still ok.. ^^
21 – みんなで協力して初音ミクに「笑顔」を歌ってもらった: A very sad and emotional love song by Miku.. Well, Miku’s melodic voice will makes you want to listen to this song.. The song is made simple yet eye-catching; Putting only 2 pictures which coincides with the song itself.. This song is another good recommendation too.. xD

Now moving on to the TOP 3 songs of the Vocaloid Weekly #61:

3rd Place – 初音ミクオリジナル曲 「Message in our silence」: A very cool rock song by Hatsune Miku.. It has the nice drum beat playing in the background.. The song starts out slow and gradually increase speed with the drum and guitar coming into the song.. Another great song by ジミーサムＰ..
2nd Place – 初音ミクオリジナル曲　「ひとひらの」: This song is simply good to listen to IMO.. The catchy tune and the nice chorus would make you listen to the whole song.. The awesome and soothing music will simply mesmerize you.. It is good that it has gone up to 2nd Place from 3rd Place previously.. I recommend this song to everyone.. ^^
1st Place – 【VOCALOID】HONEY – NANAMEUE ALL☆STARS【3DPV】: What can I say more about this song? Well, this song is just pretty awesome.. The 3D work is amazing and the song is very nice to listen to.. Well, lets just hope that it will stay on on the TOP SPOT for another week then.. xD

As I listened to some of the songs, I do find them very sad and emotional, some of which almost makes me want to cry when I am feeling down.. However, there are some songs that will cheer you up and smile when you listen to them.. Songs like 「ニコニコ☆おまじない」完成版　feat.初音ミク　【オリジナル曲】 and 【VOCALOID】HONEY – NANAMEUE ALL☆STARS【3DPV】 are some of the very songs that do so..

The good thing about this Vocaloid Weekly is that they are no random songs that can be found in previous weeks.. Although I feel quite happy about it, I kinda miss the old randomness those songs make.. =_=;;

Well, after thinking about it for some time, I have decided that I will blog whenever I can, possibly everyday but will take a rest every now and then.. Reason is that I would like to catch up with reading other ppl’s blog and would love to see what great news they have..

As for now, I will get myself ready for some gaming in the latest game to hit town, Runes of Magic.. More on that later on perhaps.. ^^
