Well, this is kinda unexpected.. I know that Dead Fantasy 3 (DF3) has already premiered in a special location (According to Monty Oum’s DA polls).. However, I didn’t expect the trailer for the next Dead Fantasy 4 to be out so soon.. Yeap, believe it or not, there is already a trailer for the upcoming episode of Dead Fantasy; Part 4.. Its been almost a year since the release of Dead Fantasy 2..
Apparently when I visited Monty Oum’s DeviantArt page, I was attracted to his latest creation; Perhaps another outfit design of Rikku for the upcoming and currently unknown project, Dead Fantasy 3.. Well, this one looks very nice indeed..
Monty Oum has amaze us once more.. Well, not the whole world but hey if his movies are made into movies, who knows.. Anyway, back at the story.. It seems that earlier this month, Monty has released 2 artworks of Rikku from Final Fantasy X for the upcoming Dead Fantasy 3.. ^^
Well, to those who don’t know about Dead Fantasy, I have a very early entry about it way way back.. You can click here to see it.. Well, the 2 artworks of Rikku is actually a so-called prototype of his final artwork for DF3.. Monty call her the “Lolita Rikku”.. Well, I was stunned to hear that in the first place since I never expect Rikku to become a Do not be confused between loli and lolitas.. Definition of Lolita:
DF series is a good action-packed show.. MUST WATCH!!

The lolita fashion on Rikku is stunning.. Seriously, I can’t imagine how Monty can come up with such great designs..
Well, I hope to see the final design of Rikku, maybe at the end of this year.. Monty have yet to see Ayane in her new outfit.. xD
DF3 will most probably be out by next year according to Monty’s DeviantART webpage.. Well, I shall report any news about DF3 if any pops-up in the future.. ^^
Well, an upcoming event is about to happen soon in the shores of Singapore.. In a month’s time, the Singapore Toy & Comic Convention 08 or STCC08/STComicon 08 will open its doors to the public for a 2-day event..
I know it’s kinda slow for me to talk about it since news came out months ago but I would like to share this to those who don’t know yet.. ^^
This convention, modelled after San Diego Comics Convention and the Tokyo Game Show, is organised by Play Imaginative – the people behind the well-conceived in Singapore urban vinyl series “Trexi“.
It will be held at the Singapore Suntec Convention & Exhibiton Centre..
It is the first of its kind in Southeast Asia. This convention is supported by Animax and the Singapore Tourism Board..
The place is at City Hall.. To those who don’t where that is you can check this map.. Print this if you have to so that you wont get lost in the big concrete jungle..
From the map above, use the Citylink Mall to head to Suntec City if you are from the City Hall MRT station..
So what events can you expect during the convention? Well, from the website, there are about 8 events and they are:
1) Walk of Fame
The Walk of Fame will feature internationally-acclaimed artists and their works in the Convention’s “Walk of Fame” section.The “Walk of Fame” will provide a valuable opportunity for Singaporeans to be exposed to leading names from design, comics, toys, and other creative industries and will serve as an exclusive showcase for five international artists, namely: Pete Fowler (UK), Simone Legno a.k.a. Tokidoki (IT), Devilrobots (JPN), Joseph Wong Chak (HK) and Gary Erskine (UK).
2) Artists’ Graffiti Wall
The Artists’ Graffiti Wall will be an exclusive feature of the Networking & Preview Night (Friday 27 June).A large blank panel measuring 16ft (W) x 8ft (H) will be provided for invited guests, artists and designers to draw, doodle, sketch and paint on. This large collaborative work of art will be a one-of-a-kind piece.
3) Mikoishi Animation Competition
Supported by the Media Development Authority, the Mikoishi Animation Competition will allow fans, students and professionals in animation-related industries to showcase their talent and creativity by developing a 2D animaton clip using characters from Mikoishi’s popular videogame, “Dropcast”.Contestants who produce their own animation works which best capture and expand upon each “Dropcast” character’s defining personality will win attractive prizes!
4) LEGO® Build-A-Brick Competition
The LEGO Build-A-Brick Competition will call on Upper Primary students from all across Singapore to showcase their creativity, talent and imagination at the Convention, by building “Icons of Singapore” entirely out of LEGO bricks!
Short-listed works by teams (of 3 – 6 students) will be showcased at LEGO Singapore’s exhibition space, and attractive prizes will be given to the team with the most innovative reconstruction of any “Icons of Singapore”.
It is something unique just like this tape dispenser but more of “Singapore Icons” like the Merlion or the Singapore Flyer etc.. 
5) Singapore Polytechnic Toy Design Competition 2008
Organized by Singapore Polytechnic and supported by the Ministry of Education and DesignSingapore Council, this competition is open to secondary school students, who will design and graphically customise toys. Jointly sponsored by Hewlett-Packard, Autodesk and Play Imaginative, the showcasing of winning and short-listed entries, as well as the awards ceremony, will take place at the Singapore Toy & Comic Convention 2008.6) Stunt Shows
Organised by Movie Mania
Organised by professional costuming specialists, Movie Mania, the Convention will feature Stunt Shows, whereby individuals wearing costumes will perform certain action sequences inspired by popular movies. This highlight will bring well-known pop-culture icons to life at the Singapore Toy & Comic Convention.
7) Props-making Workshop
Organised by Movie Mania
Professional costuming specialists MovieMania, will perform live demonstrations showing visitors how they make high-quality props and costumes. This demonstration will be a definite treat for those interested in Cosplay.
CosCon @ Singapore Toy & Comic Convention 2008

PI Events, partnered with Movie Mania, will welcome talented Cosplayers from all over the world to participate in CosCon @ Singapore Toy & Comic Convention 2008.

It’s totally way better than Streetfest, thats all I could say.. Anyway, having cosplayers from around the world to gather for this event will make this one awesome cosplay haven..
In line with the international flavour of the Convention, the Competition will fall under two main themes over the course of two days (i.e. Saturday and Sunday, 28 – 29 June):
a) MOVIE (Single & Group/Family) – Held on 28 June
b) ANIME (Single & Group/Family) – Held on 29 June
The MOVIE theme will include entries from Western pop-culture.. Contestants may choose to dress up in costumes related to Western comics, cartoons, gaming and other common mediums of pop-culture.
Even Gordon have some free time to come and visit the convention..
The ANIME theme will include entries from Japanese pop-culture (e.g. Naruto, Cloud of Final Fantasy, Full Metal Alchemist, Death Note, Neon Genesis Evagelion etc.).
Contestants may also choose to dress up in costumes related to Japanese manga and gaming as well such as Dead or Alive, Ninja Gaiden, Hatsune Miku etc..
If you ask me, I prefer to go both day since there is 2 different type of cosplayer groups.. Must have all to show everyone what is happening during the event..
Also, I have train concession so I do not worry much about transport fair..

Anyway, admission to the convention is free.. That’s right!! FREE!! There is 2 way of going into the event free..
1) Sign-up on-site -> A good choice for those lazy bums who don’t register online..
Bad Thing: Since its gonna be famous soon, alot of people will be attending it, so expect long human traffic..
2) Sign-up online: -> The best choice since you can just take your tag with you and go right in without wasting precious time queueing for registration to enter for the convention..
Bad Thing: Either it is MSN or I have not received news from the person who will give me details about the get-early-tag thing.. Wonder if I should try again..

I recently caught a glimpse of this title when I browsed through youtube and I thought maybe I can give the show a look..
Apparently, the name of this show is a mixture of the names; “Final Fantasy” and “Dead or Alive”..
So let’s begin with Dead Fantasy 1.. It last about 4 mins..
Although there is no storyline in this 5 episodes show, the fight begins featuring Yuna (FFX-2) fighting against Ayane and Kasumi form Dead or Alive (DOA)..
Rikku (FFX-2) and Tifa (FFVII: AC) later joined in to help Yuna when trouble arises with the entrance of Hitomi from DOA too…
In the next episode; Dead Fantasy 2, this is where the action starts to get alot better..
We get to see Tifa in action since her entrance in the last episode ended quite shortly followed by “To be Continued”..
However new characters are added to the mix. A scythe wielding woman from the Dead or Alive universe steps up to aid the Dead or Alive girls. (I’ve played Dead or Alive, but never tried her before so don’t remember the name.. )
The Gunblade-wielding Rinoa from FFVIII both show up to assist her FF friends, with wings attached.. ( Maybe it’s the sorceress power she got near the end of the FFVIII game. )
Also, Kairi, complete with keyblades and keyblade forms, from Kingdom Hearts II joined in to make the FF group gained an advantage in the fight..
With 3 new characters added.. The catfight between the FF girls and the DOA girls gets into high gear.. With combo moves and magic spells cast between one another, I can’t get enough of watching it many times..
I find this show one of the best videos created for fans of DOA and Final Fantasy.. Now here is my review of what is good and what is bad..
The GOOD:
1) The fighting scenes are well made.. I like the part where Tifa was fighting like a drunken master after she drank the potions ( I think they would be mana pots )..
2) The character are detailed nicely.. I can see their faces perfectly in the fast action-packed fights.. Usually the face of the characters would be blurred most of the time during fight scenes, but not this one..
3) Rinoa’s sorceress magic is totally gay.. Didn’t know she can cast a tornado in the midst of the battle..
4) Using skills that isn’t originally belongs to the character makes the show more original.. If the show uses the character’s same moves and skills as in their respective game, the show will get pretty much boring sooner or later..
Now for the BAD:
1) Little introduction to Kairi and the scythe wielding woman from DOA, especially Kairi.. She came in and the battle just start.. Maybe she would be in more fighting scenes in the next episode..
2) The scythe wielding woman waiting at the middle of the tower part; don’t understand why she was there in the first place.. I know Rinoa waited for the girls to come at the lava lake but at least she was standing at a normal spot, not at the side of the tower on her weapon or something..
3) The show is abit too long.. I agree to this one.. Maybe episode 2 can be cut into 2 parts which can make the show quite intersting to see.. The first part ending at the scene where the tower collapsed.. A suggestion..
Overall, I like the show.. I heard people complaining that this show sucks, but they are just jerks.. Unless they can prove to us that they can make a better quality, then don’t complain about the overall being sucky.. ( Doing 11minutes of 3d animation is hard trust me.. Took me 10 mins just to make a 5 seconds shitty movement.. )
Anyway, I give this show a 10/10.. I will await for the upcoming Dead Fantasy 3 episode..
